🏃‍♂️🦃 SCAB TURKEY TROT 2025 🦃🏃‍♀️
Base personnel laced up early yesterday morning for the 2025 Turkey Trot 5K, bringing the base community together for a little friendly competition and a lot of good fun.

Participants sprinted, jogged, and strolled their way around base, all with the same goal: boosting morale, staying active, and kicking off the holiday season as a team.

A huge shout-out to our volunteers and support staff who made the event possible. Events like this remind us that resilience and readiness start with a strong, connected community.

Dora Blackburn has been working at Soto Cano Air Base for 20 years! She started her career with Joint Task Force-Bravo as logistics for four years until she transferred to 1-228 Aviation Regiment Winged Warriors where she has been serving as an administrative internal control officer for the last 16 years.

“I love serving others and this is a great opportunity for me and I am very appreciative to JTF-Bravo to work in this capacity at the battalion. It is very demanding but at the same time just as rewarding because of the nations that are involved and the partnership with the United States.”

Dora ensures that all the resources the 1-228 has — personnel, operations, and finances can be used properly so that it reduces the potential waste the battalion may have.

“Internal control can be misunderstood, it’s main purpose is how we can maintain proficiency and to get things done with having less.”

The partnership between the Foreign Service Nationals and ASA is a crucial partnership and is what keeps the mission going. If you’d like to join the FSN team visit https://www.usajobs.gov.
