👥 Why does every voice matter?

🌏 On International Day of Democracy, we celebrate the power of every voice.

⚖️ It means that people can speak freely, participate in public life, be heard by those in power, and hold institutions accountable. It is grounded in respect for human dignity, universal human rights and the rule of law.

🇩🇪 Germany stands for inclusive, resilient democracies in which different perspectives are not a weakness, but a source of stronger and more legitimate decisions. When we listen to one another, even across disagreement, we build understanding, trust and respect.

🗣️ Democracy belongs to everyone, not only to the loudest or most powerful. Protecting it requires all of us: speaking up, participating and defending the space for every person to be heard.

🪡 恭喜來自德國嘅設計師 Jon Liesenfeld 榮獲 2026 Redress 設計大賽冠軍！🏆✨

🪡 Huge congratulations to German designer Jon Liesenfeld for winning the Redress Design Award 2026 in Hong Kong! 🏆✨

Ahead of the grand final, we caught up with Jon for a quick chat to talk about his circular fashion journey, his thoughts on Hong Kong, the sustainable fashion scene in Germany, and his involvement in sustainable fashion in Germany.

🇩🇪 🇭🇰 今個 9 月，享譽國際的藝術家安妮．伊姆霍夫將於大館呈獻其亞洲首個大型個展「安妮．伊姆霍夫：天鵝社」 🏠 🦢 。
作為 2017 年威尼斯雙年展金獅獎得主，伊姆霍夫以全新委約作品為展覽焦點，糅合油畫﹑銅雕﹑錄像及聲音裝置，以塑造氣氛的場景構作與香港芭蕾舞團的現場表演交織，在展場構建出富有感染力的多元感官體驗。

出生於德國、穿梭於柏林同紐約兩地的她，創作跨越表演、繪畫同聲音，早已奠定其作為德國最受矚目的當代藝術家之一的地位。

門票現已於 Art-mate 公開發售。

🇩🇪 🇭🇰 This September, internationally acclaimed German artist Anne Imhof makes her Asian solo debut with Anne Imhof: House of Swans 🏠 🦢 , at Tai Kwun.

Anchored by a commission of monumental new works, the Golden Lion-winning artist of the 2017 Venice Biennale transforms the space into a multisensory experience, bringing atmospheric scenography, paintings, sculptures, videos and sound installations, interwoven with scheduled live performances featuring Hong Kong Ballet.

Born in Germany and based between Berlin and New York, her acclaimed work spans performance, painting, and sound, solidifying her place among Germany's most prominent contemporary artists.

德意志聯邦共和國駐香港總領事館對香港特別行政區首任行政長官董建華先生離世，致以深切哀悼。

董建華先生於香港主權移交及中國擴大對外開放之際，履任首任行政長官，積極促進德國與香港之政治、經濟聯繫。1998年，董先生到訪德國期間，先後會晤時任聯邦總理高爾（Helmut Kohl）、外長金克爾（Klaus Kinkel）以及多位政商與金融界領袖，為德港日後之友好合作奠定基石。

本館謹向董建華先生之遺孀、家屬及全體悼念者，致以最深切之慰問。

The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong extends its sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Tung Chee-hwa. As the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region following the handover and at a time when China was opening up to the world, Mr. Tung played a pivotal role in strengthening the political and economic ties between Germany and Hong Kong. His visit to Germany in 1998, during which he met with Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel, and other high-ranking government and financial officials, marked a significant milestone in these relations. We offer our deepest sympathies to Mr. Tung’s family and to all those who mourn his loss.
