The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR proudly joined the nation in celebrating the ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก (๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ) ๐๐๐๐ with a Flag Raising Ceremony held on Sunday, 06 September 2026 at the Filipino Workers Development and Social Centre (FWDSC), 18/F United Centre, Admiralty. The Consulate Generalโs officers and staff, partner agencies, and members of the Filipino community came together in blue attire to symbolize unity under this yearโs theme, โ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐บ๐๐๐-๐บ๐๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐.โ
Consul General Romulo Victor M. Israel, Jr., in his message to the Filipino Community read by Vice Consul David Bien P. Paje, reminded the community that the seas sustain life and livelihood, and urged Filipinos to embrace the responsibility of protecting our maritime resources while peacefully defending our maritime entitlements under international law.
In her video message, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro stressed that the countryโs maritime future depends on collective action, cooperation, and stewardship to ensure a secure, sustainable and thriving oceans for generations to come.
The message of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as delivered by Consul Von Ryan S. Ferrera, reminded everyone that the countyโs waters shape the life of the country and emphasized the significance of this yearโs observance coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award.
In solidarity with the Philippine Government, the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong reaffirms its commitment and duty to uphold and spread awareness of the countryโs maritime entitlements, heritage and responsibility.
