The Belt and Road Summit, jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is a premier international platform for promoting business collaboration along the Belt and Road.

The Summit gathers senior government officials and business leaders from countries and regions along and beyond the Belt and Road to exchange insights on multilateral co-operation and explore concrete business opportunities.

THE ARAB CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY’S PRESIDENT LORD EDWIN E. HITTI HONORED TO BE GUEST OF THE CHINA DAILY GREATER BAY AREA CONFERENCE 2026

Co-organised by China Daily and Hong Kong Coalition, the Greater Bay Area Conference will served both as an important platform for building consensus following the completion of Hong Kong’s five-year plan consultation and as an early opportunity for in-depth dialogue among leaders from government, business, academia and research ahead of APEC China Year.

The conference focused on key themes including financial connectivity, commercial aerospace, and artificial intelligence in education, exploring how Hong Kong can seize the dual strategic opportunities presented by the 15th Five-Year Plan and APEC, leverage its unique role as a super connector, and contribute to the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.

The event convened approximately 250 distinguished delegates, including Government officials, Consuls General, business leaders, and representatives from academia and think tanks.

The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry’ members delighted to attend The Watch & Clock Fair, Salon de TIME 45th edition featuring more international and diverse line-up; with the Salon de TIME reaching a new high in brand participation.

Jointly organised by the ‘Hong Kong Trade Development Council’ (HKTDC), ‘Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Limited,’ and the ‘Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Limited,’ under the theme “Sparkling Moments Through Time”, the two fairs attracted more than 630 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, showcasing a wide range of watches, clocks and related products to meet evolving market trends and consumer demand.

THE ARAB CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY’S PRESIDENT LORD EDWIN E. HITTI EXTENDED CONGRATULATIONS FOR INDONESIA’S 81ST NATIONAL DAY

The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s President Lord Edwin E. Hitti congratulated Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong and Macao Andi Ardiansyah, via Immigration Consul Febby Wilson Sayuti and Deputy Consul General Clemens Bektikusuma as well as members of The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.

Independence Day is a national holiday in Indonesia commemorating the anniversary of the Indonesia’s proclamation of independence on the 17th of August, 1945. It was made a national holiday by then-President Sukarno in 1953.

Independence Day is celebrated on the day when the proclaimers of Indonesian independence-Soekarno and Hatta proclaimed the independence of Indonesia from the Dutch and Japanese authorities.

Formally, Indonesians usually celebrates their Independence Day by doing flag ceremonies in schools and public offices. At the Hong Kong SAR of China, Indonesians celebrated the country’s 81st Independence Day in the form of a bazaar and flag raising held at the Consular residential compound on 17th of August, 2026.

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the official national motto of Indonesia. The phrase is old Javanese translated as “Unity in Diversity” (Out of many, one).

Dear Members, Friends, & Officials,

The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Zhu Rongji, The People’s Republic of China’s 5th Premier (1998–2003). and member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (1992–2002)!

This is to convey on behalf of our Arab Chamber and its members my/our deepest and most heartfelt condolences for His passing.

And by the present, would also like to express our profound sympathy to His family, the PRC Government, the CCP, and all the Chinese people for this tremendous loss.

I/We mourn with you, honor His legacy, and remain committed to our steadfast friendship and cooperation with the PRC as He would have wanted!
