This webinar will report the assessment of social innovations in Japan and South Korea through field work, case study and documentation analysis sponsored by the Sumitomo Foundation in 2018-21. Drawing from the perspectives of Transformative Social Innovation (TSI), the implications to social innovations in the Greater China regions will be further discussed.
Cases of social innovation have been collected from Japan and Korea to tackle the issues of community participation, community organizing, political participation, ageing, long term care, social isolation, unemployment of youth and disadvantaged groups, social exclusion, uneven development, rural decline, cultural rejuvenation, post-disaster re-construction. Social innovations on community café, employment assistance of youth, community care, health and care coops, village community re-generation, mission and faith-based rural-urban living coops, as well as government and social sponsored social entrepreneurship hubs, etc.
