It’s clear that America’s progressive base is concerned about climate change. But it’s been difficult to get the Democratic Party to even acknowledge this crisis, let alone take valuable steps toward combating it. Until the DNC is willing to hold a discussion and take responsibility for this matter, activists must continue taking bold measures to make sure our voices are heard.

For over a month now, the people of Hong Kong have been engaged in an aggressive campaign to force their chief executive .hksar to step down from her position. It began with a wildly unpopular bill she purposed that would give China the right to extradite suspected criminals (including activists) from Hong Kong to Beijing. Faced with mass demonstrations, Lam trashed the bill. But that wasn’t enough, activists demanded her resignation and this past week, they were nearly 2 million strong in the streets. We stand with the people of Hong Kong, who are setting the tone for how powerful people power can be. @ Hong Kong

This week Hawaii indigenous natives were arrested by heavily armed police in a peaceful demonstration opposing the building of a 1.3 billion dollar telescope atop a volcano on the island. This project will desecrate native land and interrupt the spiritual harmony of First Nation people who have found refuge in this volcano as a place of worship for hundreds of years. Join the fight by contacting Hawaii representatives and demanding they honor the wishes of native people.

Police are not a body of individuals, they are a social construct built around a racist ideology. The fact that these officers were able to pass a psychological evaluation and get hired at a department is proof of that. Until policing is reformed, there's no such thing as a "good cop"

Investigative journalists have discovered hundreds of law enforcement officers around the country who are active in members-only Facebook groups that are based on racism, hate and ... well, it would be nice to add a third thing here, but that’s about it.

If a weapons dealer and a racist senator could be granted immunity from the president for charges of war crimes, manslaughter, and sexual assault, then a journalist should not be indicted for exposing war crimes and other hard to swallow truths.
