A Sunday afternoon of sport, learning and friendship at the Italian Sports Day 2026 – Fencing Open Day, held on 13 September at the International Fencing Academy at Kai Tak Sports Park (hkifa_kaitak) in Hong Kong.

Organised by the Consulate General of Italy in collaboration with the International Fencing Academy, the third edition of the Fencing Open Day gave young participants aged 6 to 16 the opportunity to discover the fundamentals of fencing under the guidance of Italian Olympic Coaches Maurizio Zomparelli (Maurizio Zomparelli) and Giacomo Fanizza () , while experiencing the values that sport promotes: discipline, concentration, respect, fair play and friendship.

The event was part of Italian Sports Day in the World, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to celebrate sport as a bridge between cultures and a means of fostering friendship and international cooperation.

We are grateful to all the young participants, families, coaches Maurizio Zomparelli Giacomo Fanizza and partners who joined us in celebrating the shared values of sport and the longstanding ties between Italy and Hong Kong, and to the International Fencing Academy Hong Kong International Fencing Academy for its continued collaboration! 🤺

9月13日，意大利駐香港總領事館聯同國際劍擊學院 (Hong Kong International Fencing Academy) ，在香港啟德體育園舉行「意大利運動日2026 – 劍擊體驗日」，讓一眾年輕人親身接觸劍擊運動，感受運動帶來的樂趣。

由意大利駐香港總領事館主辦、國際劍擊學院協辦的「意大利運動日 –劍擊體驗日」今年已踏入第三屆，一如以往開放予6至16歲的兒童及青少年參加。參加者在意大利奧運劍擊教練Maurizio Zomparelli (Maurizio Zomparelli) 及 Giacomo Fanizza () 的親自指導下，不但學習到劍擊的基本技巧，亦從運動中體會到紀律、專注、尊重、公平競賽和友誼等重要價值。

此活動為「世界意大利運動日」的一部分，由意大利外交及國際合作部推動，旨在以體育為橋樑，促進不同文化之間的交流，並加深友誼與國際合作。

🇮🇹🧘‍♀️We are delighted to present the third edition of the Italian Sports Day · Yoga Open Day, guided by Italian Yoga Instructor Federica Betteto.

Following the success of the 2024 and 2025 editions, which saw fully booked classes, this year’s session is once again open to the public and welcomes yoga enthusiasts in Hong Kong.

Through a diverse programme of sporting activities, Italian Sports Day in Hong Kong continues to promote healthy lifestyles and sports culture, while strengthening exchanges and connections between Italy and Hong Kong.

The event is part of the Italian Sports Day initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and coordinated in Hong Kong by the Consulate General of Italy.

Come and enjoy a session dedicated to movement, wellbeing, and the Italian passion for sport with Federica Betteto.

🇮🇹 Italian Sports Day 2026 — Open Water Swimming Race ｜2026 意大利運動日 — 公開游泳比賽

The third edition of the Italian Sports Day – Open Water Swimming Race brought together swimmers of all ages and abilities at Victoria Recreation Club (VRC) in Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong, for a day of sport, friendship and exchange between Italy and Hong Kong.

Over 200 participants competed in the 400m and 1,500m races, demonstrating a shared passion for swimming and the values of fair play, participation and sporting excellence.

As part of the Italian Sports Day in the World initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and coordinated in Hong Kong by the Consulate General of Italy, the event highlighted the important role of sport in bringing people and communities together. It also reaffirmed sport as a powerful channel to promote Italian excellence, from innovation and design to lifestyle and high quality products.

We warmly thank all participants, partners, volunteers and supporters for helping make this third edition a success and for contributing to such a positive celebration of sport and friendship.

Looking forward to continuing to build bridges between Italy and Hong Kong through sport!

第三屆意大利運動日公開游泳比賽日前於深水灣舉行，吸引不同年齡及游泳水平的參賽者，共同享受游泳的樂趣，並透過體育促進意大利與香港之間的交流。

參賽者分別挑戰400米及1,500米賽事，在比賽中展現活力、毅力及體育精神，體現公平競賽、積極參與及追求卓越的體育精神。

Over the past four years, I have had the unique privilege of representing my country in an exceptionally dynamic environment, rich in opportunities, which have opened new synergies across many different fields.

I would like to express my warmest and most sincere thanks to all those who have shown such unwavering commitment to our projects and initiatives. It has been a great pleasure and honour to work alongside so many dedicated partners and friends.

L’8 agosto si celebra la “Giornata nazionale del sacrificio del lavoro italiano nel mondo”, in concomitanza con la commemorazione dell’incidente minerario di Marcinelle, in Belgio, dove nel 1956 persero la vita 262 minatori nella miniera di Bois du Cazier, tra cui 136 italiani.

A settant’anni di distanza, il Vice Presidente del Consiglio e Ministro degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, On. Antonio Tajani, ha rivolto un videomessaggio ai connazionali all’estero.

On 8 August, Italy commemorates the “ National Day of Italian Labour Sacrifices in the World”, which coincides with the anniversary of the Marcinelle mining disaster in Belgium. In 1956, 262 miners, including 136 Italians, lost their lives in the Bois du Cazier mine.

On the seventieth anniversary of the tragedy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, addressed a video message to Italian nationals living abroad.
