#濕地生態【銀葉樹】
大家認唔認到早前喺公園活動入面，手繪嘅生日禮物係用邊一種果實呢？佢就係我哋今日要介紹嘅主角🔊——銀葉樹！
銀葉樹係香港原生嘅真紅樹之一，最易認嘅特徵就係佢哋嘅葉片：葉面係深綠色，但翻轉葉底就會見到一層閃閃發光嘅銀白色鱗片✨，能夠反射光線，從而減低葉片嘅溫度，以減少水份流失！另外，佢嘅花朵細小且呈紅褐色，喺同一棵樹上可以生出雄花同雌花，有多分支嘅圓錐花序。
銀葉樹仲好「硬淨」㗎～佢哋嘅根系發達，有大而平嘅板根，能夠牢牢固定整株植物喺軟泥基上，幫助減緩海浪沖擊、保護海岸線，係海岸生態嘅重要守護者。而且佢哋嘅果實外形似個小飛碟，成熟後會隨水漂流，去到唔同地方落地生根🌊。

Did you recognise which fruit was used for the hand-painted birthday gift at the Park‘s event recently? It is the star of today's introduction🔊 — Coastal Heritiera!
Coastal Heritiera is one of the native true mangrove species in Hong Kong. Its most recognisable feature is its leaves: the upper surface is dark green, but if you flip the leaf over, you will see a layer of sparkling silvery white scales ✨ that reflect light, thus lowering leaf temperature and reducing water loss. Moreover, its flowers are small and reddish‑brown. It is monoecious with unisex flowers, and bears a multi-branched, panicle inflorescence.
Coastal Heritiera is also very “tough” — it has a well-developed root system with large, flat buttress roots which helps to anchor the plant on soft substratum, helping to dampen wave impact and protect the coastline, making them key guardians of coastal ecosystems. Furthermore, its fruit looks like a tiny flying saucer; when ripe it drifts with the water, moving to different places to take root 🌊.
