The Tokyo Metropolitan Government offers a program to support foreign financial companies and human resources skilled in finance who are considering establishing a new base of operations in Tokyo by providing them with a temporary stay in Tokyo to conduct preliminary research.

【Target】
・Foreign financial companies(*1) or human resources skilled in finance(*2) considering establishing a base in Tokyo.
(*1) Asset management or Fintech companies established under foreign law.
(*2) Individuals employed by or outsourced to foreign financial companies.

【Content】
Partial subsidies for office rent (*3), etc. to conduct surveys for establishing a base in Tokyo.
(*3) Office space must be provided by an office operator supplier certified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

【Eligible expenses : Maximum amount and period】
(1) Office Rent : Actual costs will be exempted for up to 300,000 yen per month, up to 3 months.
(2) Initial Costs : Actual costs will be exempted for up to 200,000 yen regardless of the contract period.

■□ TMG: Overseas Financial Corporation Business Establishment Subsidy Program □■
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government provides subsidies to overseas financial companies that establish their first base (such as Japanese subsidiaries) in Tokyo,
covering part of the costs of establishing their base, including personnel recruitment expenses.
The deadline for this grant is approaching, and we would like to remind you once again.

>
【Parties eligible for subsidy】
The applicant must be a Japanese corporation or branch office, established in Tokyo by a foreign financial company (*1) in the same fiscal year as the fiscal year in which the application for this subsidy is made.
*1 Corporations established based on foreign laws concerning the operation of asset management businesses or FinTech businesses.

【Subsidy eligibility requirements】
(1) To consult with Business Development Center TOKYO and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government before determining plans to establish the business operations.
(2) Not have an established business in Japan before establishing the business operations that are eligible for this subsidy.
(3) Operational bases for asset management businesses, as well as research and development centers for FinTech corporations, etc., are required to possess functions that are recognized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as having the potential to contribute significantly to the revitalization of Tokyo’s economy.

【Expenses Eligible for Subsidy】
・Fees incurred in consultation with experts
・Personnel recruitment costs
・Office initial costs

【Subsidy Rate and Maximum Amount of Subsidy】
Subsidy rate: No more than ½ of the expenses eligible for subsidy（Maximum subsidy: 7,500,000 yen）

【Application deadline】
March 31, 2023 (Friday)
*Prior consultation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is required before application,

In order to support the business expansion of Overseas Financial Corporations, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government grants the subsidy to Japanese Corporations, etc. of Overseas Financial Corporations that have just been established a new base in Tokyo to cover a part of costs necessary for promotion of growth of business, etc.
We would like to introduce this program to you!

>

【Parties eligible for subsidy】
・Japanese Corporations, etc. established bases in Tokyo by Overseas Financial Corporations (asset managers and FinTech corporations) in the previous or the second preceding fiscal year of the fiscal year when the application for the subsidy is submitted.

【Subsidy eligibility requirements】
1) Eligible for the subsidy must fulfill all the following criteria
・ They must consult with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government by November 30, 2022.
・ The Overseas Financial Corporation first established its operation of business in Japan.
2) Main business of the Japanese Corporations, etc. carries one or more of the following functions.
・ Asset manager
・ FinTech corporation
3) Employ at least one full-time employee (who will be covered by employment insurance) at the Japanese Corporation, etc.
4) In addition to the preceding paragraph, Overseas Financial Corporations and Japanese Corporations, etc. must fulfill all the following criteria.

【Expenses Eligible for Subsidy】
・Office rents
・Consulting fees for experts, etc.
・Purchase costs of equipment and fixtures, etc.

【Subsidy Rate and Maximum Amount of Subsidy】
1/2 of actual expenses （Up to 10 Million yen）

【Subsidy process and deadline】
1) by November 30, 2022 :
advance consultation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government after consultation with Business Development Center TOKYO “Financial One-Stop Support Service”
↓
2) by January 31, 2023：
subsidy application
　↓
3) payment of the subsidy after a decision to grant the subsidy
