𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐀𝐑, 𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines, through its overseas representative office in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macau SAR, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) in collaboration with the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) and the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), successfully organized the Philippines’ participation in the Fashion InStyle and Home InStyle from 27 – 30 April 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

As the official Partner Country, the Philippine delegation, under the collective brand FASHIONPhilippines, headlined the NEXT@Fashion InStyle exhibit. The showcase positioned the nation at the intersection of artisanal heritage and next-generation material science, featuring 26 elite Filipino companies with designs rooted in culture and engineered for a circular economy.

A major highlight was the debut of revolutionary textiles derived from indigenous fibers, such as pineapple leaf and abaca. This initiative, a partnership with DOST-PTRI, demonstrated the global competitiveness of "Telang Pinoy" as a sustainable alternative for international markets.

In addition, two concurrent activities were organized during the Philippines’ participation in Fashion InStyle:

𝟏. 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞: 𝐀 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞

On 28 April 2026, the FASHIONPhilippines Parade took place at The Runway, HKCEC. This high-energy showcase featured curated traditional and contemporary designs from leading brands, including Bayo, Abacatex, and Thian Rodriguez, complemented by artisan accessories from Arnel Papa. The event drew approximately 100 industry professionals and trade buyers.

𝟐. 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫: 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬

Moderated by Mr. Boggs C. Leaño, Division Chief of CITEM’s Home Lifestyle Division, the seminar "Fashioning the Future in the Philippines" organized on 29 April 2026 at The Runway, Hall 3FG of the HKCEC, featured 3 keynote speakers, Dr. Julius L. Leaño, Director IV of DOST-PTRI; Ms. Lucia Capuyan-Catanes, Creative Director of Narda's Handwoven Arts and Crafts Inc., and Ms. Anna Marie R. Lagon, CEO of Bayo Manila Inc. The seminar served as a strategic platform to showcase the nation’s evolution into a global hub for sustainable design. It highlighted the potent synergy between traditional craftsmanship and next-generation material science, specifically exploring how the Philippines leverages its rich heritage of indigenous textiles to drive the global circular fashion movement.

In addition, CITEM represented 5 Filipino companies at the concurrent Home InStyle exhibition, showcasing high-end home and lifestyle products at a dedicated pavilion.

The 4-day participation yielded a total export sales performance of US$ 322,393.27. This includes US$ 39,398.26 in immediate retail sales and US$ 283,994.91 in negotiated deals. The delegation connected with 103 trade buyers, resulting in 309 trade inquiries.

This year’s Fashion InStyle and Home InStyle successfully attracted 12,000 and 20,000 buyers, respectively. While the majority of international attendees originated from China, Taiwan, and Japan, there was notable growth in participation from the Philippines, Canada, and Türkiye, further cementing the fairs' reputation as premier global trade events.

𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐔 𝐒𝐀𝐑, 𝟏𝟒 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines, through its overseas representative office in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macau SAR, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Hong Kong (PTIC-HK) in collaboration with Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR (PCG Macau) and Philippine Department of Tourism – Shanghai Office (PDOT - Shanghai) , supported the Philippines’ participation in the Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), from 10 – 12 April 2026 at the Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macau.

Under the unified "Love the Philippines" campaign, PTIC-HK has established a dedicated product showcase booth within the Philippine Pavilion. This year’s exhibition goes beyond tourism, highlighting the Philippines as a premier source of high-quality consumer goods for Macau, the Greater Bay Area and international markets.

PTIC-HK's display area within the Philippine Pavilion features a curated selection of world-class Philippine exports by showcasing signature products from the Philippines including coffee, craft beers, snacks, seasoning and personal care products from eight (8) brands:

Beverages: Engkanto (Craft Beer), Empereur Farms OPC, and Cafe Cuatro PH Coffee Store.
Culinary Essentials: Mama Sita’s seasonings, The Baken snacks.
Personal Care: Hair Reve, Dermtropics, and Coconut Plus.

In addition to trade products, the Philippine Pavilion featured 10 major players from the tourism sector, including Hotel101 Global Limited, Cebu Air Inc., Okada Manila, and Solaire Resort Entertainment City.

Throughout the 3-day event, PTIC-HK representatives facilitated on-site resource hubs at its display area at the Philippine Pavilion to host business matching sessions and offered market insights and consultancy for Macao-based distributors and retailers looking to source authentic Philippine products.

Organized by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) since 2013, the MITE is Macau’s premier UFI-accredited tourism event, serving as a vital bridge between Mainland China and international markets. This year’s edition reached new heights, attracted over 700 exhibitors from 59 countries and regions, and is expected to draw more than 40,000 visitors in person alongside millions of online viewers.
