HONG KONG SAR – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), joined Philippine food and beverage exhibitors at HKTDC Food Expo PRO 2026 from 13–15 August 2026. Led by Vice Consul (Commercial) Eric C. Elnar, PTIC-HK visited the Philippine Pavilion to meet participating companies and support their efforts to bring Philippine food products to international markets.

Facilitated by the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong (PCGHK), the Philippines successfully presented a premium selection of products to international buyers from four companies, including Kokomojo Mango Farm Corp., Kitzsteinhorn Food Products, McNester Food Products, and The Pitstop Restaurant.

Philexport Southern Tagalog Region IV Association Inc. (PhilSTAR) also actively participated in this year's HKTDC Food Expo PRO, showcasing seven premier companies under its banner: Aco Delish Corp., Brics Resto Bar, Blessed Harvest Marketing, Pacific Roots, Fresh Q, Sagada Coffee Community, and Chirmi International.

The three-day food expo offered an opportunity to discover a diverse array of food and beverage products. It provided an invaluable one-stop professional business platform that helped F&B industry players explore new global market opportunities and forge stronger commercial connections.

On 24 August 2026, PTIC-HK met with representatives of Premium Hong Kong Foods Co., Ltd. to discuss market expansion opportunities for Philippine products in Hong Kong and Macau.

Established in 2009, Premium Hong Kong Foods Co., Ltd. specializes in Southeast Asian imports. Boasting a robust network of high-quality suppliers, the company manages an extensive portfolio of over 1,500 SKUs of 500 products across 20+ brands. Their comprehensive supply chain services cover major supermarket networks, department stores, and retail channels in Hong Kong, including Wellcome, Market Place, Citistore, YATA, DSGroceries, and Best Mart 360°.

The company's current import portfolio includes an array of household Philippine brands such as Mama Sita's, Oishi, Rebisco, SkyFlakes, Century Tuna, Argentina, Buenas, Alfonso Brandy and Lipa Coconut Water.

The discussion focused on future strategic collaborations to mainstream more premium Philippine products across wider retail channels in both Hong Kong and Macau.

𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐀𝐑 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center - Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), represented by its newly appointed Vice Consul (Commercial) (VCC) Eric C. Elnar, paid a courtesy call on Consul General of the Philippines to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), Hon. Romulo Victor M. Israel, Jr. and key officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong (PCGHK) on 3 August 2026.

During the call, VCC Elnar highlighted PTIC-HK's upcoming projects for the second half of 2026 and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with PCGHK to advance the country’s economic diplomacy initiatives.

As the new head of PTIC-HK, VCC Elnar is mandated to promote Philippine trade and investment opportunities across both Hong Kong and Macau SARs.

A seasoned trade diplomat, VCC Elnar brings extensive global experience to the post. Prior to his posting in Hong Kong SAR, VCC Elnar headed PTIC offices across several key international commercial hubs, including Los Angeles, California (United States of America), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Bangkok (Thailand), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Hong Kong (PTIC-HK), supported the expansion of Hong Kong’s Kambal Gallery into the Philippines, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting investments in the creative sector and deepening cultural and business linkages between the Philippines and Hong Kong.

Established in Hong Kong in 2017 by twin sisters Irene Haagen and Anna Pendry, Kambal Gallery was founded on a shared lifelong passion for the arts and a core vision to elevate Filipino artists onto the international art stage. The gallery’s entry into the Philippine market reflects growing investor confidence in the country’s creative economy and its role as a regional hub for contemporary art and culture.

Mabalot, Jr. represented PTIC-HK at Kambal Gallery's grand opening ceremony on 8 July 2026 at the Park Triangle Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The opening also featured the gallery's inaugural exhibition, "The Launch."
