The village of Los Peñascos has a series of boulders and caves with 30 to 150 different unique designs of ancient rupestrian paintings.

This tourist attraction is on the way to the Copan Mayan ruins. The village of Los Peñascos is located in San Juan Ermita, which is part of the wider Mayan Ch'orti' region which includes Camotán, Jocotán, San Juan Ermita and Olopa. This territory is the cradle of Maya Ch'ortí' indigenous people that are directly linked to the kingdom of Copan. Their ancestry left the current indigenous population

many customs, traditions and Mayan ceremonies that have been cultivated generationally. Other interesting activities to do in the Cho'rti' region include:

4.- Basiliar thermal baths
