Η Διεύθυνση του Ελληνικού Κέντρου Κινηματογράφου Hellenic Film Commission, αρμόδια για τις Διεθνείς Οπτικοακουστικές Παραγωγές, συμμετείχε και φέτος στο ετήσιο FOCUS – The Meeting Place for International Production που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Λονδίνο στις 5 και 6 Δεκεμβρίου 2023.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της διήμερης εκδήλωσης παρουσιάστηκε η διαδικασία γυρισμάτων της ταινίας “Η Επιστροφή” ως μελέτη περίπτωσης και καλή πρακτική για την προσέλκυση και πραγματοποίηση διεθνών παραγωγών στη χώρα μας.

Στην παρουσίαση συμμετείχαν η Σταυρούλα Γερωνυμάκη, Υπεύθυνη Λειτουργιών της Hellenic Film Commission, ο James Clayton, Παραγωγός από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και ο Κωνσταντίνος Κοντοβράκης, συνιδρυτής της Heretic και συμπαραγωγός της ταινίας.

“Η Επιστροφή” πραγματεύεται την ιστορία του ομηρικού Οδυσσέα αξιοποιώντας το χρηματοδοτικό εργαλείο της επιστροφής μετρητών. Η αναζήτηση τοποθεσιών έγινε στην Πελοπόννησο και την Κέρκυρα σε συνεργασία με το Πρόγραμμα Ενίσχυσης Ανεύρεσης Χώρων της Διεύθυνσης Hellenic Film Commission.

Η συνεισφορά του Hellenic Film Commission και του Ionian Film Office υπήρξε καθοριστική για την ομαλή διεξαγωγή των γυρισμάτων τόσο σε δημόσιους όσο και αρχαιολογικούς χώρους.

Την ταινία σκηνοθετεί ο Ουμπέρτο Παζολίνι και πρωταγωνιστούν ο Ρέιφ Φάινς και η Ζυλιέτ Μπινός.

Hellenic Film Commission the Directorate of Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου / Greek Film Centre responsible for International Audiovisual Productions, participated in this year’s annual FOCUS - The Meeting Place for International Production that took place in London’s Business Design Center, on the 5th and 6th of December 2023. The HFC, considering its experience and its international network, coordinated its events with those of ΕΚΟΜΕ, but also with the Film Office Central Macedonia and the Epirus Film Office in the national booth. The events that took place aimed to showcase the comparative advantages of Greece in attracting and realizing audiovisual works from abroad.

During the two-day event, the presentation of the shooting process for the movie "The Return” stood out as a case study, showcasing the best practices in attracting and realizing national productions in our country. The presentation speakers were Stavroula Geronimaki, Acting Director of the HFC, producer James Clayton (UK), and Konstantinos Kontovrakis, co-founder of Heretic and co-producer of the film. “The Return”, revisiting the story of Homer’s Odyssey, utilized Greece’s Cash Rebate Tax incentive. Location scouting took place in the Peloponnese and in Corfu and was financially supported by the Location Scouting Support program of the HFC. The contribution of both the Hellenic Film Commission and the Ionian Film Office was pivotal for a smooth filming process in both public and archaeological spaces. The film was directed by Umberto Pasolini, starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliet Binoche.

In evaluating the presence of the HFC in this year’s FOCUS event, we must highlight the assembly between London’s Greek National Tourism Organization and members of the Film Office of Central Macedonia and representatives of the Region of Central Macedonia, that aimed at planning a collaborative fam trip in the area.
