🇱🇺 On 5 September 2026 in Thessaloniki, Ambassador Paul Schmit decorated Mr Ioannis Verginis (), Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Thessaloniki, as Officer of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in recognition of his outstanding commitment and 22 years of dedicated service to Luxembourg and 🇱🇺🇬🇷 ties.
This distinction reflects Mr Verginis' longstanding dedication and valuable contribution to strengthening relations between Luxembourg and Greece.

Thanks to the President of the Green Fund, Mr Giannis Androulakis, the Diplomatic Adviser to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, Mr Vasileios Koniakos, the Communications Officer of the Green Fund, Ms Kellie Koligiorga, the President’s Adviser, Ms Panagiota Chatzimichailidou, and the organisation’s Expert on the Circular Economy and Information Systems, for a very interesting discussion at the Green Fund’s headquarters at Villa Kazouli, on the role of the Green Fund and the projects it finances.

The guests are currently collaborating on an international audiovisual project showrun by Simon Farmakas and supported by , , & Greece’s EKKOMED audiovisual incentive programme.
Among those attending were Luxembourg actress and producer Désirée Nosbusch, Luxembourg producer Alexandra Hoesdorff and Greek producer Fenia Cossovitsa, illustrating the strong international partnership behind the project.
