It is with profound sadness that I have learned of the passing of Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott, former Vice President of the Republic of Zambia and Acting President during a significant period in our nation's history.

Dr. Scott dedicated many years of his life to public service and to the advancement of Zambia. His leadership, intellect and commitment to democratic governance left a lasting mark on our country and earned him respect both within Zambia and internationally.

As Honorary Consul of the Republic of Zambia in Greece, I extend my sincere condolences to his family, friends, and to the people of Zambia during this time of mourning.

May his legacy of service and patriotism continue to inspire future generations.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

DAY 2 of the Official Visit
Today was dedicated to engaging discussions at the Hellenic National Defence College (SETHA).

We were welcomed by Brig. General Methenitis and his team. Exchanges of views and ideas were made with distinguished military leaders and experts on contemporary security challenges, regional stability, strategic cooperation, and the evolving defense environment. The visit provided valuable insights into Greece's approach to defense education, strategic planning, and leadership development.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the leadership and staff of SETHA for their warm hospitality and the opportunity to strengthen professional ties and mutual understanding.

Looking forward to continuing this productive exchange of knowledge and experiences.

DAY ONE OF OFFICIAL VISIT
Today was a truly insightful and productive day as part of the official visit by the delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Zambia to Greece.

We had the privilege of visiting the Hellenic Air Force Academy, Σχολη Ικαρων where we were warmly received by Brigadier General Jhon Athanasiadis and his team. We were given a comprehensive tour of the academy's facilities, including an opportunity to view the aircraft used for training and learn about the advanced simulation systems that play a critical role in preparing future Air Force officers.

Our visit also included the academy for Non-Commissioned Officers, located within the same campus. There, we were graciously received by the Brigadier General (HAF) Antonios Tsalabounis NCO Academy who provided valuable insights into the training, education, and professional development of non-commissioned personnel within the Hellenic Air Force.

The visit offered an excellent opportunity to observe firsthand the high standards of military education and training in Greece and to appreciate the strong commitment to excellence demonstrated by both institutions.

We were honored to conclude the day's engagements with a lunch graciously hosted by the leadership of both academies, providing an opportunity for further discussions and the strengthening of ties between our respective institutions. After lunch there was obviously gift exchanges

As Honorary Consul of Zambia in Greece, it is a privilege to support initiatives that foster cooperation, mutual understanding, and the development of future military leaders.

I extend my sincere gratitude to both Brigadier Generals and their teams for their warm hospitality and generosity throughout our visit.

On Saturday the 13/06/26, I had the distinct honor of receiving a delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Zambia Brig Gen Geoffrey Solon Hambulo from the Airforce,
Brig Gen Stephen Simon Kyanguba from ZNS and
Brig Gen Hedon Mwilu from the Zambia army . The purpose of the visit is to engage with and assess the welfare and progress of Zambian students undertaking their studies at military institutions in Greece.

I was pleased to accompany the delegation alongside the first secretary Political, Ms. Angela Pumulo Muyenga from the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Rome. As we continue to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between Zambia and Greece in the field of education and defence training.

As Honorary Consul of Zambia in Greece, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote the development of our young men and women and enhance the longstanding relationship between our two nations.

Zambia mourns the passing of Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV, one of the country’s most respected and longest-serving traditional leaders. He died on May 30, 2026, after a short illness.

Born David Njengembaso Jele, he ascended to the Ngoni throne in 1982 and led the Ngoni people for more than four decades. He was widely known for preserving Ngoni culture and overseeing the annual Nc’wala Ceremony in Eastern Province, one of Zambia’s most significant traditional ceremonies

Tributes have continued to pour in from government leaders, traditional authorities, and citizens across the country. Our President H.E Mr Hakainde Hichilema expressed deep sorrow over his death, describing him as a unifying and influential traditional leader.

Today, on African Freedom Day, I remember and honor my father Edward Joseph Brown Chizi, whom we laid to rest ten years ago.

He was more than a father to me — he was my guide, my teacher, my protector, and one of the greatest influences in my life. So much of who I am today comes from the wisdom, strength, and values he passed on to me. Zaire,( before DRC) Consul General 1980 to 1987 Ps for Economics under state house 1988 to 1989
Ps Foreign Affairs 1989 to 1992
Political life for him was just one party... UNIP after that, was just guidance Though five years have gone by, his voice, lessons, and love still live in my heart every single day. I remain grateful for the time I had with him and for the foundation he gave me to face life with courage and purpose.

Today I celebrate his life, his sacrifices, and the lasting impact he continues to have on me.

Rest well, Dad. You are deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️
