11th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival

The African Embassies and Honorary Consulates accredited to the Hellenic Republic in collaboration with the communities invite you to the “11th African Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival” to be held on 12 and 13 May 2012 at the gardens of the South African Official Residence, Diamantidou 5, Paleo Psychico.
The African countries participating in the festival will be showcasing and promoting the rich and diverse African culture and heritage including cuisine, handicrafts, music, dance and fashion show.
The African kiosks namely, Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, DR Congo Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda will be placed on the garden of the South African official residence, offering visitors a chance to acquaint themselves with the customs of each country, while handicrafts and clothing will be available.
The garden will also accommodate tables and chairs where visitors will have an opportunity to taste and enjoy various African cuisine and drinks.
The funds raised from the 11th African Food, Music and Handicraft Festival will be donated, as usual to a charity organisation. In this regard, the funds that were raised during the last African Festival which took place in May 2011 were donated to “Smile of the Child” and “World Pharmacists”.
