Position Accountant/Bookkeeper
Type of Appointment Full-time Position
Starting Salary Minimum Guinea Francs (GNF) 47 019 933 to Maximum Guinea Francs (GNF) 56 805 201 Per annum based on qualifications and experience, excluding benefits. Fringe benefits are payable according to prevailing rules as set out in the Conditions of Service.
The South African Embassy in Conakry seeks to employ a qualified individual with the required experiences.
Requirements:
A relevant post-school qualification plus three (3) years’ experience in an administration, financial capacity
Relevant computer proficiency especially in MS Excel
Must have knowledge of Revenue online Services for payroll purposes
Excellent budgeting and planning skills and experience
High level of organisational skills and knowledge
Communication – English both verbal and written
Good interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving and networking skills
Negotiation skills and management of contracts
Guinean National or Permanent Resident or Foreign National with relevant government approvals
Police clearance(s) certificate from country of origin and if resident over one (1) year in current country of residence
Valid Driver license (Added advantage)
Diplomacy and networking
Efficient agility in conducting activities /work
Computer literacy (Software and hardware) Ms Office Suite of programmes such as MS Word and use of Internet search
Basic skills of translating French to English
Sense of urgency
Key Performance Areas
Successful candidate will be required among others to perform the following:
Preparation of Monthly Expenditure Reports
Create and file internal expense and receipts, vouchers on the system used by the Embassy
Monthly reconciliation of cashbooks and bank statements
Preparation of payments
Petty cash disbursements and replenishment
Create and Maintain registers and files
Manage monthly payroll of employees and pay slips
Manage employee Pension Scheme in conjunction with service providers
Preparation of annual budget
Provide administration support to the Embassy
Assist with the Embassy events when required
Ad-hoc duties in line with the Embassy’s operational requirements
Translation of invoices.
Applicants who are not Guinean Citizens must be in possession of all the documentation required by the Guinea authorities to perform full-time work. The Embassy will not be responsible for sponsorship/arranging any documentation regarding working/remaining in Guinea and all applicants will be checked for this criterion. The Embassy will not be responsible for any travel related-cost.
