Aron Charter Environmental Group Trains Young People In Environmental Protection

The Aron Charter Environmental Group has on Sunday trained young people with requisite knowledge and practical skills in environmental protection.
The event held at the Sannehmentereng School Ground in Ghana Town, brought together young people and students to discuss environmental issues and the important role they can play in protecting their communities.

underscored the significance of protecting the environment.
He explained the trickle down effects of deforestation, especially when trees are removed without replacing them.
“Deforestation has negative effects on the environment, agriculture, rainfall, animals, and human survival.
Trees are important because they help provide oxygen, food, shade, timber, and protection from strong winds.
Trees also support crop cultivation and contribute to a healthy environment.
Some people cut down trees for charcoal, firewood, building houses, and other forms of survival.
Instead of simply stopping people from cutting trees, there should be alternative sources of livelihood.
When trees are cut down, people should plant new ones, encouraging afforestation rather than deforestation.” he said.
The loss of forests cover he said, can reduce wildlife and change the environment. He highlighted the importance of protecting the environment.
“Protecting trees is important because human beings depend on the environment for survival.” he added.

highlighted several causes of plastic pollution.
“Lack of public awareness and environmental education.
Poor recycling systems.
Burning plastic waste.
Careless littering and improper disposal.
Excessive use of single-use plastic bags.
Improper disposal of fishing nets.
A general throw-away attitude among some members of the public.”.
According to Sillah, plastic pollution has serious effects on land, rivers, oceans, animals, plants, agriculture, and human health.
“Plastic can remain in the environment for many years because it does not decompose easily. Animals may also consume plastic waste, which can cause serious injury or death. Plastic pollution is everyone's responsibility.”.
