It is with profound joy and gratitude that I give the Almighty Allah all the glory, joy and adoration for this blessed opportunity of being elected again as the councillor of Tallinding south ward. I sincerely extend my deepest appreciation to the people of Tallinding for coming out in numbers across all the political party lines to sympathize with me for my re-election.
I feel it incumbent upon me to acknowledge the efforts of the United Democratic Party for giving me another opportunity to sponsor my candidateship to contest under the name of the party. I wish to thank non-UDP members that came out and voted for me because of my attitude and projects. This is a clear indication that we must always unite and work together as one people with one goal to achieve the progress we all desire.
I thank my fellow contestants: Mr Buba Badjie, Abdoulie M. Sanyang and Lamin Daffeh. I encourage you all to come and join me in the WDC for us to be able to support our community. I hold the conviction that when we come together and work as residents of Tallinding, we can promote agricultural, political, and socio-economic development in the ward.
My re-election is for the development and advancement of Tallinding, KMC and the Gambia at large. During my first term as councillor, I doubled as the chairman of the Finance Committee; Chairman of the Revenue Committee; Vice Chairman of the Accounting Committee; a member of the Education Committee as well as the Mbalit Truck Committee of KMC. These were positions I held with utmost commitment and respect to promote development in all walks of life. I strived by all possible means to have good bilateral relationships with international institutions beyond the Gambia to support the residents of Tallinding, KMC and the Gambia.
The election has gone; I am no more representing just a party but the residents of Tallinding, KMC and the Gambia. I have no illusion about the difficulties of the tasks that lie ahead, but with God's will of all, we will succeed.
