On July 28, 2026, Mr. Foster Kwame Boakye, the Regional Sports Director, inaugurated an eight-member committee tasked with leading the promotion and development of sporting activities within the Sene East District. The committee comprises carefully selected individuals whose primary objective is to advance sports within the community, particularly at the primary and secondary school levels, as well as at the grassroots. They are also responsible for ensuring equitable opportunities for both male and female athletes across various sports disciplines.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sene West District, Honorable Khaari Fuseini, urged the newly inaugurated committee to work diligently to realize the vision for sports promotion and development within the Municipality. He further assured the committee of his commitment to providing the necessary support for their initiatives.
The Regional Director for the National Sports Authority (NSA) in Bono East expressed gratitude to the committee members for their willingness to serve. He encouraged them to remain dedicated and focused on their mandates, emphasizing that the future of sports development in the Municipality rests on their efforts. He acknowledged the challenging nature of the task ahead but conveyed his confidence that the appointees would demonstrate integrity and discipline throughout their tenure. He concluded by congratulating the new committee members.
The committee chairman, speaking on behalf of the members, extended his appreciation to the DCE and the Regional Director for the opportunity. He affirmed their commitment to leveraging their experience to positively impact sports development within the District.
