*Dr. Khaliq Pays Courtesy Call on Paramount Chief of Tampion Traditional Area*
The Member of Parliament for the Nanton Constituency, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Sherif Abdul-khaliq, on Monday, 18th May 2026, paid a courtesy call on the newly enskinned Paramount Chief of the Tampion Traditional Area, Naa Mahama Yakubu.
The visit formed was to officially introduce himself to the Paramount Chief as the Member of Parliament for the Nanton Constituency and to seek his guidance, blessings, and support in the discharge of his responsibilities to the people.
The MP, who was out of the jurisdiction during the enskinment of the Paramount Chief, used the opportunity to formally congratulate him on his elevation from Sang to the Tampion Paramountcy. He acknowledged the critical role of traditional authorities in promoting peace, unity, and development within their communities, and assured the Chief of his readiness to work closely with the traditional leadership for the progress of the area.
The MP further reiterated his commitment to the development of the constituency and emphasized the need for collaboration between political leaders and traditional authorities in addressing the challenges facing the people.
On his part, the Paramount Chief expressed gratitude to the MP for the visit and the show of respect to the traditional authority. He assured Hon. Dr. Khaliq of his full support and pledged to work hand in hand with him to bring meaningful development to the area mand the Nanton Constituency at large.
