Abura Technical Institute in the Western Region has received a major boost to its training facilities, thanks to a generous donation from VIS Ghana, an Italian-based NGO operating locally.
The donation, valued at thousands of cedis, includes 10 industrial machines, 15 butterfly manual hand machines, one knitting machine, five electrical and industrial irons, and one embroidery machine. The equipment was officially handed over to the school’s principal, Madam Mercy Esi Nunoo, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to VIS Ghana. She described the support as a timely intervention and assured that the school would ensure proper use and maintenance of the machines.
Madam Constanza Steinbeq, Project Manager of VIS Ghana, led the presentation. She encouraged students to take their academics seriously and use the equipment to sharpen their practical skills. “These tools are meant to aid your learning and help you make a positive impact,” she emphasized.
The donation marks a significant step in strengthening vocational education at Anura Technical Institute, equipping learners with hands-on experience to prepare them for the job market.
This partnership highlights the importance of collaboration between NGOs and educational institutions in empowering young people with the skills they need for the future.
