THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL FOR GHANA TVET SERVICE, MADAM MAWUSI NUDEKOR AWITY VISITS THE WESTERN REGIONAL OFFICE OF GHANA TVET SERVICE.

On Wednesday,4th October 2023. The Director-General for Ghana TVET Service, Madam Mawusi Nudekor Awity, visited the Western Regional Office of the Ghana TVET Service. The Deputy Director-General for Operations Mr. David Prah and other Staff from the Headquarters were present.

The Director General admonished the Regional Office to work hard and elevate the image of GHANA TVET SERVICE mentor, impact and support the mission of the service.

Did you know that October 6th was World Manufacturing Day?

This annual event, held on the first Friday of October,it emphasizes the importance of manufacturing industries in generating economic growth, promoting innovation and creating jobs.

it recognizes the accomplishments of manufacturers around the world while raising awareness about the essential role they play in shaping our daily lives.

Our TVET schools in Western Region use machinery to manufacture and learn.
Mechanical Engineering,Auto Mechanic and Welding are examples of manufacturing-related courses offered at Sekondi Takoradi Technical Institute,Takoradi Technical Institute and Kikam Technical Institute.

If you attend these technical Institutes,you have a good chance of becoming an Engineer in any of the fields stated above.

THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR GRACED THE 5TH GRADUATION CEREMONY OF SEKONDI TAKORADI TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (STTI) ON THE 23RD OF JULY,2023.

The annual graduation ceremony of the SEKONDI TAKORADI TECHNICAL INSTITUTE was held at The Church of Pentecost Bethel Assembly, New Takoradi District.
The Deputy Regional Director, Ghana TVET Service expressed his joy and pride in the success of the graduates. He acknowledged the fact that despite being challenged academically, intellectually, and emotionally. The graduands faced countless obstacles, and embraced the lessons life threw at them and became victorious.
The graduates were encouraged to reflect on the transformative power of education which will equip them to be the mastermind in their career and embrace the opportunity for growth and success.
Also, the Deputy Regional Director commended the tremendous support and guidance provided by dedicated teachers, staff, and parents for the role they played in nurturing and mentoring into remarkable individuals you are today. All the students did well, but it is best to acknowledge the best graduating student of the year 2023, Clement Sam of the Auto Electricals department was awarded the Best Graduating student, he walked away with an amount of money and a plaque.
The ceremony will not only commemorate the achievements of graduates but also serve as an opportunity to bid farewell to them as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives.

Charlotte Dolphyne Vocational Training Institute in Sanzule located in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region held its first scholarship handover ceremony.
The scholarship program is sponsored by ENI Ghana, VITOL, GNPC and VIS Ghana.
The Theme for the program dubbed “TVET FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT “. The program is geared towards improving Ghanaian education system focusing on methodologies, curricula, and extracurricular activities.”
The Deputy Director of the Ghana TVET service Western Region graced the occasion and encouraged the trainers to participate in the training program which will have them spear-headed and equipped in the job market.

SENSITIZATION TOUR TO INTRODUCE THE TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE BASIC SCHOOLS.

As part of the mandate of the Ghana TVET Service to enhance the image of Technical and Vocational Training, The Western Regional Corporate Affairs Department paid a visit to the basic schools in the Naval Basic and Western command cluster of schools at Beach Road to stir them up into opting for the TVET courses in the Technical Institutes.
They were also encouraged that pursuing their Degree, MTech and Doctorate in Technology courses in the technical field is possible. They will be exposed to Workplace Experience Learning (WEL) opportunities while in school to demonstrate their hands-on experience in their field of study. They also acquire entrepreneurial skills to establish their own companies as soon as they complete school which eventually curb the unemployment situation in the country.

On Tuesday,31st January 2023.The Western Regional Directorate had a meeting with all heads of TVET institutions at the Takoradi Technical Institute.
The program was to acknowledge all Heads of the TVET schools in Western Region, appreciate their progress and also offer our support as an established Regional Office in order to make the Region the best option for TVET.

The meeting had the Deputy Director of Ghana TVET Service Western Region, Mr.Kwaku Tufuor-Frimpong and the staff of the Regional Directorate.
The Deputy Director addressed the House on newly improved measures to contribute to the imminent growth of staff in TVET service.

On Thursday,26th January,2023.The Deputy Director of the Ghana TVET Service Western-Region,Mr. Kwaku Tuffour Frimpong and some staff of the service in the Western Region visited the Diabene Vocational Institute.

The Diabene Vocational Institute(ICESS) was established in the year 2000.The student population are six (6) in number comprising of only Females.
The School is specialized in dress making and catering.
Diabene Vocational Institute offers courses such as Dress making, catering and construction.

The familiarization tour organized by the Ghana Tvet Western-Region paid a courtesy call to the GRATIS Foundation in Sekondi.

Gratis Foundation is a training school that manufactures a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment to promote small scale industrialization.
The machines available are the palmoil making machine, bread rolling equipment and oil tank reservoir. These are all done by the students in the Institute.

The foundation is open to the public to train people who are interested in learning how to make these machinery.
Present in the picture is the Deputy Director, Human Resource Manager of the Ghana TVET Service Western-Region ,The Manager of Gratis Foundation, Accountant and other tutors of the Institute.
