PRESENTATION OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT AND OTHER SUPPORT TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY ( PWD)
The kwahu East District Assembly in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development at Abetifi in the Eastern Region has organised a programme to present some tools and equipment and other support to 24 people With Disability ( PWD) in the district.The items included 3 popcorn machine, 2 wheel chairs,3 sewing machine, 15 deep freezer and a hair drier.Presenting the items, the DCE Hon Isaac Agyapong advised the beneficiaries to ensure that the various support that they have received,they should work on it to the benefit of themselves and the nation as a whole. He appealed to them not to sell the items they have received as others have been doing. Hon Agyapong advised them to adopt the culture of maintainance.The District Director for Social Welfare And Community Development Mr Martin Annor commended the Assembly and said the items will improve upon their livelihood to avoid over Dependants on the government and other stakeholders for support. He urged the beneficiaries to work hard and take very good care of the tools received so that other people will also benefits from them. The chairperson for the PWD,madam Comfort Abena Dedea,receiving the items commended the Assembly on behalf of the beneficiaries and encouraged them to be hardworking as to bring more honour to themselves. *UPGRADED ODWEANOMA PARAGLIDING FIELD COMMISSIONED*

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the Kwahu Traditional Authority and the Kwahu South District Assembly today commissioned the upgraded Odweanoma Paragliding Site.
The Paragliding Festival which is one of the flagship events on the tourism calendar is organised twice every year by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to coincide with the Easter Festivities and also the Corporate Paragliding in September. The Paragliding festival was instituted in 2005 by the then Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City , the Late Hon. Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey to promote both domestic and international tourism.
The Odweanoma Paragliding Site has been upgraded to further improve the facility into a model event ground capable of supporting all year round recreational activities. It includes the construction of a new entrance post, fencing of the event ground, paving of the entire event area, construction of an enclosed VIP catering area, resurfacing of vewing partition and installation of additional overhead polytanks.
Busts of the Late Hon. Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey and Ferdinand Ayim was also unveiled as part of the commissioning. A plaque has been placed at the site to acknowledge the contributions and support of individuals who have championed the development and growth of the sport in Kwahu, Atibie.

Present at the event were the Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts and Deputy, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, District Chief Executives from Kwahu South and Kwahu East, GTA Board Members & Management, Nananom etc.

The DCE for Kwahu East, Mr. Isaac Agyapong has advised the recent BECE candidates in the area to rejoice that they have overcome their first hurdle despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
The DCE gave the advice when he visited all the BECE centres in the District last Friday.
According to him, it was to encourage the children to put up their best and wish them well despite the numerous problems they have passed through.
Mr Agyapong told them to be careful of how they jubilate and if they have any thing at all to jubilate about it should be that they have all passed and have got their preferred choice of schools and that they are all part of the Free Senior High School Students.
He urged them to set their minds on going higher in the educational ladder because with that nothing could stop them from achieving their goals.
He said the Free Education Systems has come to stay becuase it is one of the heart beat's of Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP government.
Therefore, he said they should make up their minds to take advantage of the FREE SHS system to build their future.
He congratulated them for going through the Examinations peacefully and successfully.
Mr Agyapong advised them to keep away from all social vices especially the recent attitude of abuse of Tramadol.
He advised them to aspire higher to become responsible citizens in future.
He urged them to concentrate on their books, goals and aspirations and the good Lord will see them through.

BECE TAKES OFF
The Kwahu East District Chief Executive Hon.Isaac Agyapong,accompanied by some members from education office have visited all the BECE centres to monitor and encourage the candidates writing the exams.There are 57 junior High Schools in the district with 47 public and 10 private. The total number of candidates been presented for BECE were1132.Males were661 while 471 were Females.The team visited Abetifi Senior High ( ABSEC)centre, St.Joseph secondary Technical (JOTECH)at kwahu Tafo and Nkwatia Presby SHS(NKWASCO).Others were Hweehwee D/A basic school,Suminakese Christian D/A centre.In all the centres visited, the pupils were seated and were also in their nose masks.The invigorators were all present and Veronica buckets were also place at the vantage points to ensure strict adherence to the vivid19 protocols.It was observed that, no police personnels were at the centres but there was calm and peaceful atmosphere.

YAW TENKORANG NEEDS HELP.
The chiefs and people of Yaw Tenkorang in the kwahu East District of the Eastern region have called on the government, the district assembly, NGOs and individuals to come to their aid to construct teachers bungalow and a place of convenience to help them prevent open defecation in the community. The people said this when the national commission for Civic education NCCE) organised a social auditing programme in the town .
The aim of organising this programme is to to promote community ownership of developmental projects and policies, increase awareness of the operations of local government and encourage citizens to demand accountability from duty bearers.
The district director of ncce Mrs Abigail Nkansah took the people through the meaning of social auditing which she said it is a program organized by NCCE as part of accountability, rule of law and anti-corruption programme (ARAP) to promote discourse among citizens and office bearers on planning implementation, monitoring and evaluation of pro projects and programs .
The ncce director ask the people to put their political affiliation aside and ask questions related to developmental projects to the community .
The Odikro of the town, Nana Boamah Yeboah commended necce for organising such programme in their town and enumerated some challenges facing their community. These challenges include rehabilitation of presby primary school ,good drinking water and dustbins to help the People to keep their environment clean .
The district planning officer voradam Joshua when reacting to their grievances said that more than 2000 cashew seedlings has been nursed by the assembly at Dwerebease and therefore ask the assembly man in the area honorable Solomon Aboagye to register all those who are interested in planting such crops .He advised them to involve themselves in the agro-business because it will help them to generate more funds to alleviate poverty in the community .The planning officer added tha
