REGIONAL DIRECTOR MONITORS CTVET CERTIFICATE II PRACTICAL EXAMS
The Ashanti Regional Director of the Ghana TVET Service (GTVETS), Engr. Richard Addo-Gyamfi, embarked on a CTVET Certificate II Practical Examination monitoring exercise in the Ashanti Region.
The three-day exercise, which took him to selected Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes across the Ashanti region, began on May 4, 2026, and ended on May 6, 2026.
The Regional Director was accompanied by the Deputy Regional Director, Mr. Daniel Amoh, officers from the Audit and Corporate Affairs Units, as well as officers from the Research, Innovation, Monitoring and Evaluation (RIME), Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA), and Workplace Experience Learning (WEL).
The exercise, which took the monitoring team to various examination centres across the region, was to ensure adherence to approved guidelines.
The exercise also focused on candidate participation, institutional preparedness, and the general conduct of the examinations.
Candidates from programme areas including Building & Construction, Electrical Engineering, Carpentry, Welding & Fabrication, Fashion Designing, Catering, and Auto Mechanics undertook live practical projects, while attendance and participation records were verified at all centres monitored.
The Institutes generally demonstrated readiness for the exercise, with facilitators and external assessors on hand to ensure a smooth conduct of the examinations.
Addressing candidates and facilitators during the exercise, the Ashanti Regional Director, Engr. Richard Addo-Gyamfi, noted that the monitoring exercise was to observe candidates demonstrate their practical competencies and assess the skills acquired through training, and to motivate them to give their best in both the practical projects and the forthcoming written examinations.
Mr. Addo-Gyamfi further encouraged candidates to seize every opportunity towards academic advancement.
