The Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT 92) serving with UNIFIL Sector West, in partnership with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), has concluded another cycle of Coordinated Training Activities with LAF (COTAWL) at the LAF Base in Chawakeer.

The closing ceremony of the joint training cycle brought together personnel from the LAF and UNIFIL to mark the culmination of a week-long series of joint operational and tactical exercises designed to strengthen interoperability, mutual trust and mission effectiveness.

Throughout the training period, GHANBATT 92 played a leading role in the planning, ex*****on and evaluation of the coordinated training modules in close collaboration with LAF units.

The training cycle reaffirms GHANBATT 92’s dedication to fostering a strong, productive and respectful partnership with the Lebanese Armed Forces, while remaining fully aligned with Sector West and UNIFIL Headquarters in promoting peace, stability and cooperation across the area of operations.

As part of the ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to LAF personnel who successfully completed the training programme.

A delegation from the Department of Public Relations (DPR) has visited Twellium Industrial Company Limited at Medie Kotoku on Tuesday 20 January 2026, to learn at firsthand the operations of the fast moving consumer goods sector.

Communications manager Twellium, Mr Daniel Abugre Anyoriga took the personnel through the history of the company, branches, production process, safety standards, franchise rights as well as quality control standards strictly enforced to meet international requirement.

This was followed by a guided tour of the facility where the experts in the various production units of the company gave detailed step-by-step education about their products, ingredients and nutritional benefits of the products.

The Environment and Safety Officer at the beverage unit, Mr Samuel Adjetey Annan noted that water is the primary raw material for beverage production and it undergoes several treatment processses. He stated that the quality assurance team equally conducts continuous checks to ensure product safety.

The visit also exposed personnel to the objectives, sustainability projects including environmental responsibility and ethical production.

Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) James Bampoe Palmer has handed over responsibilities as the Commanding Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC-Camp) to Lt Col Prince Owusu Frimpong on Friday 16 January 2026 at the Whistler Barracks, Teshie.

The Guest of Honour for the event, Commandant TRADOC Rear Admiral Maxwell Arhen said the tenure of the outgoing commanding officer was characterised by improved welfare, infrastructure development and enhanced administrative efficiency.
He lauded Lt Col Palmer for the for the noble achievement chalked during his tenure which includes the acquisition of two tricycles to support the operations at the TRADOC Mineral Water factory and also facilitate the transportation of personnel from the main gate to the administrative area of the Command.

He called on personnel to offer the incoming Commanding Officer the same level of loyalty, dedication and cooperation to ensure continuity and sustained growth of the Command.
Delivering his farewell address the outgoing Commanding Officer Lt Col Palmer expressed profound gratitude to the Commandant, Staff Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their corporation and unwavering support throughout his tenure of office.
“Throughout my tenure, I was privileged to work with a highly professional and dedicated team whose commitment to duty made it possible for us to strengthen personnel administration, improve welfare systems and enhance the overall efficiency of this command. The progress we have recorded is a reflection of your loyalty, cooperation and hard work”, he added.

One major initiative he singled out was the ongoing development of the TRADOC Day Care School block. He explained that the project was aimed providing safe and supportive environment for children. He urged the incoming Commanding Officer to ensure successful completion of the project.

The Armed Forces Central Band (AFCB) has conducted a high-impact music workshop and outreach programme at Lincoln Community School (LCS) on Wednesday 14 January 2026.

The programme formed part of the Band’s civil–military relations and youth development initiatives.

As part of the engagement, the Second-in-Command (2IC) of the AFCB, Lieutenant Commander Stanley Theophilus Brocke, delivered a lecture on the strategic importance of the Band within the Ghana Armed Forces. He highlighted its critical role in state and military ceremonies, national and international engagements.

He added that the Band also enhances morale, public diplomacy and projects Ghana’s military image both locally and internationally. He also spoke on military music, emphasising its role in fostering discipline, teamwork and professionalism.

The AFCB team demonstrated military band drills and performed a joint musical display with the Lincoln Community School Band, under the baton of LCS Band Director, Ms Keyara Fleece.

The Head of Lincoln Community School, Madam Lesley Tait, expressed her appreciation to the Armed Forces Central Band.
