As part of the 65th Independence Day Celebration the Municipal Education Directorate organized an Inter Circuit Quiz Competition between Abrem Agona, Ayensudo, Dominase, Essaman, Elmina, Komenda, Kissi, and Ntranoa.

The Munipal Chief Executive Hon. Solomon Appiah was Joined by the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Hon. Kodwo K*m, The Central Regional Minister Hon. Mrs Marigold Assan, Former Vice Presidential Candidate of NDC, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang , The President of Central Regional House of Chiefs. to the 40 Days Anniversary of the Late Omanhene of Komenda Traditional Council "Nana Kojo Kru II".

The government and the keea municipal assembly made a cash donation of Gh¢12,000 and others to the komenda traditional council.

Hon. Solomon Appiah in a brief speech asked the people of komenda, young or old to be united to help perform final funeral rites of the late omanhene. He expressed how sad he felt for the lost of the nana omanhene because he was a hard working chief and a man of peace and also since he the MCE is a son of Komenda.
