GNFS OTI,DAMBAI CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS DAY.
The oti regional headquaters of the Ghana national fire service celebrate International Firefighters Day on the theme, An attack on firefighters is an attack on public safety,end assaults and protect the firefighter. Delivering the keynote address by the Regional fire officer DO I Francis Agbavitor calls on the general public and other relevant stakeholders to come to terms that fire safety is a sacred shared responsibility. Therefore, the need for all stakeholders to ensure that any assistant that is needed by the service to ensure public safety and by extension preventing and managing undesired fires in accordance with our mandate is achieved. He said the growing concern of the service is the persistent and constant attacks on firefighters engaging in their lawful duty, which is becoming a hindrance to the general public safety of the country. He called for all attacks on firefighters to be ceased , and firefighters should be protected during their engagements in their lawful duties.
The MCE of Krachi East, Hon. Safo Nketiah who doubles as the special guest of Honour and the chairperson of the day, called on fire service in the Krachi East to always call on his office for any assistance needed for implementation of fire safety standards within the municipality, he has requested the service to annually provide action plan that will be incorporated into the Krachi East annual Assemblys action plans. An open forum was held,a minutes silence was held in memory of the lost gallant heroes, and coins were laid in the name of the president and the people of Ghana, the regional fire officer laid his in the name of the CFO, etc.
A citation and award was presented to ADO I Stephen Agortor,the former staff officer and municipal fire commander of the krachi East municipality, for his hard work and dedication since he came to the region in 2019. He has gone on transfer to Kasoa fire station early this year.

GNFS OTI AS PART OF IFFD HELD AN EXHIBITION EXERCISE .

As part of the international firefighters' day celebration, the Ghana National Fire Service oti regional headquaters held an exhibition exercise at regional headquaters,Dambai.
In attendance were school children from Charis Star International School, English Arabic Basic School, and King of Salem International School. Welcoming them,the acting regional commander DO I Francis Agbavitor express his profound happiness on the schools management availing their schools to learn and aquaint themselves on the operations of gnfs which will enable school children to make a proper career choice growing up as citizens.
The regional public relations officer led the exhibition.

GNFS OTI REGION DAMBAI.
30th April,2026.

Oti region Dambai Krachi East municipal and the regional headquaters fire command held a float to publicise the international firefighters' day celebration through the streets of the regional capital. Flyers made with fire safety tips of the home,markets,workplaces,gas leakages,motor vehicles, etc. were shared with the general public.

Later as part of the days event, a simulation exercise was held at the Dambai branch of GCB bank . This was done to assure the general public and bank customers how prepared and ready is gnfs to save lives and properties within the region. At the end of the simulation the regional P.R.O of gnfs took time to explain to onlookers and the customers of the banks who were completely not aware of the planned simulation with the Bank,thinking that actually there was a fire outbreak at the bank, explained the processes they witnessed and how the service is ever ready to respond to any incident of fire timeously to safe lives and property, he called on the general public to stop attacks on firefighters,because an attack on a firefighter is an attack on the public safety and that every individual and citizen is to see to an end assaults and protect the firefighter in this country.

GNFS DAMBAI HELD MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION.
As part of the international firefighters' day celebration, the oti regional headquaters held a health sensitisation talk for personnel. The topic ,
Health Measures for Ghana National Fire Service Staffs,
Stress and Stress Management at the Workplace. Open remarks from the Acting Regional commander DO I Francis Agbavitor called on all personnel to take their mental health issues seriously, the reason a mental health expect was brought to educate the how to identify stress and its management protocols, adhering to this protocols will go a long way to enable personnel live long.
On the part of Mr. John Kemeh, the mental health expect for the Krachi East municipal heath directorate advocate for the need of all personnel to visit their facilities for regulate check on the mental health status. He took personnel through the processes of identifying stress levels of oneself and how to manage it..

GNFS OTI AS PART OF IFFD HELD A RADIO DISCUSSION ON KANO 93.5FM.

As part of the of the international firefighters day celebration, the Ghana National Fire Service oti regional headquaters held a radio discussion on Kano 93.5fm to sensitize the general public on core mandate of the service, the need to adhere to fire safety protocols and the importance of gnfs as a development partner in nation building on the theme of the celebration, an attack on the firefighter and equipment is an attack on public safety. End assaults and protects the firefighter. The team for the radio discussion was led by ADO I John Sunutse ,the regional safety officer and subordinate Officer Maxwell Ashong, the regional public relations officer.
