Support Action Year Agenda, ASEMA MCE Urged Staff
Staff of the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly (ASEMA) have been asked to put aside all personal interest and put their shoulders to the wheel to propel development of the municipality.
The MCE Hon Anita Love Obo Amissah who made the call at a maiden staff durbar on 2nd February 2022 described this year as an action year and as such entreated members of staff to put aside simmering bickering and infighting which are counterproductive.
The MCE noted further that as a political figure unlike civil servants, her tenure of office is clearly stipulated and would require the full support of members of staff irrespective of their political affiliations for the Assembly to excel, adding “ as far as I am here let’s stop the infighting. We have to work in unity”.
Touching on attendance, Hon. Anita L. O. Amissah decried the situation where some staff come to work very late yet leave the office as early as 1:00 pm, a situation she described as unacceptable.
She cautioned however that her outfit would no longer countenance the poor attitude of staff towards work. She paid glowing tribute to some two senior officers, Messrs. Godson Lodo and Gabriel Abrefa who were so dedicated to duty.
On boundary dispute between the municipality and Ga South, the MCE observed that her information was that it has been a long standing issue and called for some form of education on the dichotomy between traditional boundaries and administrative boundaries to drum home a lasting peace between the feuding parties.
During open forum, some of the staff expressed their frustrations and the challenged environment within which they operate. The Municipal Information Officer for instance, lamented about lack of office accommodation which is adversely affecting his operations.
