As part of efforts to re-brand Bawku and also to restore peace and socio-economic stability within Bawku and its environs, the military and police on Saturday 14 October 2023, conducted a clean up exercise with some transport union member to clean the Highways general area. The Joint Task Force Commander, Col Antwi Awuah Darkwah, speaking to the transport union members commended them for coming out in their number to help re-brand Bawku and urged them to use the exercise as means of promoting peace in Bawku.

The Joint Task Force Commander Col Antwi Awuah Darkwah, on Wednesday 4 October 2023, as part of efforts to bring lasting peace to Bawku and its environs and also promote free movement of goods, personnel and services, led a team to conduct a confirmatory reconnaissance to the new station and other areas to assess the security situation on ground.

SECURITY HEADS MEET WITH LEADERSHIP OF TRANSPORT UNIONS IN BAWKU
The Security Heads for the Committee for Peace in Bawku led by Col Antwi Awuah Darkwah, on Monday 2 October 2023, held a Peace Sensitization and Security meeting with the leadership of transport unions within Bawku. The meeting was aimed at unifying all individual transport stations within the Bawku Township by moving them to the new station provided by government.
The decision by the security heads is to allow for free movement of persons, goods and services to and from Bawku.

Without peace, there can be no development and without development there cannot be peace. In view of this, the Joint Task Force Commander, Col Antwi Awuah Darkwah, as part of activities by the Joint Task Force Bawku to bring lasting Peace and stability to Bawku, met with the leaders of the various tribes within Bawku. The aim of the meeting was to interact with the leaders and let them understand that, they must embrace peace to allow for Socio-Economic development. Col Darkwah entreated them to think about the future of the children and give peace a chance.
