LEDZOKUKU MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY DISBURSES DISTRICT ASSEMBLY COMMON FUND (DACF) TO NINETY-TWO (92) PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, represented by the Municipal Coordinating Director- Madam Rhodaline Adwoa Conduah, Chairman of the Disability Fund Management Committee- Mr. Saint Kabu and other committee members on Monday, 24th August, 2026 disbursed Ghc600,000 from the Assembly’s DACF to ninety-two (92) Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s)

The beneficiaries, who are persons with disability received cash grants and various items at a ceremony held at Teshie Salem Square. These grants and other items will help support these PWD’s in setting up businesses for themselves.

The Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly embarked on a field trip on Friday, 14th August, 2026 to assess and ascertain facts on the ground regarding complaints before the Committee.

The team was led by Hon. Samuel Kwashie Tawiah, the Presiding Member of the Assembly and Chairman of the Committee.

Hon. Samuel Kwashie Tawiah indicated that it was crucial for the team to visit areas of contention and juxtapose them with the evidence submitted by complainants and defendants in order to ascertain the facts and arrive at fair decisions for recommendations to the General Assembly.

The visit covered the Teshie Gonno School area, Teshie Tsoenshie Market, and the Forward area.

The PRCC remains committed to its role as mediator and arbiter in handling petitions and public grievances, and to ensuring fair and amicable resolution of matters brought before the Committee.

A DELEGATION LED BY THE ASSEMBLYMAN OF TSUIBLEOO CENTRAL, HON. REES NII ARMAH QUAYE OF THE LEDZOKUKU MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY, AND NAA ASHORKOR MENSAH-DOKU PAYS A VISIT TO HON. ABLA DZIFA GOMASHIE, MINISTER OF TOURISM, CULTURE & CREATIVE ARTS, AHEAD OF THE 2026 TESHIE HOMOWO FESTIVAL.*

As part of preparation towards this years Teshie Homowo festival, Hon. Rees, Assemblyman for Teshie Tsuibleoo Central and Naa Ashorkor visited the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, to lock in the possibility of exciting government collaboration for this year’s festivities.

This year’s Teshie Homowo seeks to bring peace amongst the citizens, making sure everyone pulls out in their numbers to come celebrate culture and heritage.

The Minister for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, sends her warm Homowo wishes to the people of Teshie as they celebrate this year's Homowo Festival. She calls on everyone to uphold peace, unity, togetherness, and tranquility throughout the celebrations.

As we honor our heritage, let us embrace and preserve our rich culture and traditions so they can be passed on to the next generation.

The Social Services Sub-Committee, Chaired by Hon. Saint Kabu (Assemblyman for Okesekor) paid a visit to some transport unions in the municipality to assess their operations, identify challenges and seek ways to improve transport services and commuter safety.

The Sub-Committee, on Tuesday, 21st July, visited the Teshie First Junction, Tsuibleoo and the Lascala Transport Unions.

Hon. Kabu, indicated that the Committee's mandate covers sanitation, health, markets, schools, transport, youth development and education as such the need for such stakeholder engagements which will yield benefits to the people.

Prior to the transport unions' visit, the Social Services Sub-Committee had toured some pre-schools in the municipality to assess their status, challenges and the way forward.

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE OF THE LEDZOKUKU MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS SITTING ON PENDING MATTERS

The Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, in accordance with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), particularly Section 26, has held a sitting to consider matters pending before the Committee.

The sitting, which took place on Friday, 7 August 2026, provided an opportunity for the Committee to engage invitees and educate them on its mandate and functions.
The Chairman of the Committee and Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Samuel Kwashie Tawiah, explained that the PRCC is mandated to promote probity, transparency and accountability in the operations of the Assembly.

He further noted that the Committee is responsible for educating the public on the functions and services provided by the Assembly, as well as investigating complaints relating to alleged abuse of office or administrative injustice involving the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Assembly Members and staff of the Assembly.

The Committee also considers matters involving members of the public and officers or staff of the Assembly, where such matters fall within its mandate.

The Hon. Chair emphasised that the PRCC does not entertain matters that are pending before a court of competent jurisdiction.

During the sitting, the Committee considered three pertinent matters brought before it and has subsequently made recommendations to the General Assembly for consideration, ratification and implementation.

The Committee remains committed to ensuring that complaints brought before it are handled fairly, transparently and in accordance with the laws governing local governance.

The Health Directorate, Ledzokuku under the directive of the Hon MCE, Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, was tasked to visit communities affected by the recent floods and provide them with BP checks and medicines for pain relief and chronic illnesses .

This exercise, led by the Municipal Health Director, Gifty Ofori Ansah, took place at Bush Road, Penny and Tafo.

The Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Teshie provided a bus to transport the nurses to their assigned areas to carry out the exercise.
