🌸 THANK YOU From the Heart of GRMA 🌸
To every Ghanaian who paused to celebrate, acknowledge, and uplift midwives this International Day of the Midwife 2026 we say THANK YOU.
Your messages, your kind words, your presence at our National Midwifery Symposium, and your solidarity across social media mean more than words can fully capture. Behind every midwife is a community that either lifts her up or leaves her behind and Ghana chose to lift her up. 💚
To our partners, government officials, development organizations, media houses, and the general public who amplified our voice and our theme “More Midwives for Ghana: Invest, Train, Retain Save a Mother, Save a Nation” your support proves that maternal and newborn health is a cause that belongs to all of us.
To Ghana’s midwives in hospitals, health centres, community clinics, and remote posts across this nation you are seen. You are valued. You are the backbone of safe motherhood in Ghana. 🙏🏽
This celebration is a reminder that the fight for better conditions, more training opportunities, and stronger retention of midwives does not end today. It continues and with the love we have witnessed this week, we are more determined than ever.
On behalf of the Ghana Registered Midwives Association (GRMA), we say ayekoo to every midwife, and to every supporter. 🇬🇭
Together, we save mothers. Together, we save a nation.
