The Water Resources Research Centre (WRRC) of the National Nuclear Research Institute, Ghana Atomic Energy Commission successfully organized a 3-Day Research & Publication Bootcamp from 9–11 March 2026 at the MNSR Inner Conference Room.
The bootcamp brought together researchers for an intensive learning session focused on strengthening research design, scientific writing, and publication skills. The program aimed to equip participants with practical tools to improve the quality, visibility, and impact of their research.
Initiatives like this play an important role in building strong research capacity and promoting high-quality scientific publications.

The Director of the National Nuclear Research Institute (NNRI), Prof. Samuel Gayanglo, and the Director-General of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), Prof. Samuel Boakye Dampare, attended the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) held in Accra, Ghana.
The event brought together scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to reflect on three decades of global commitment to banning nuclear test explosions and strengthening international peace and security. Ghana continues to play an active role in supporting the objectives of the CTBT through scientific collaboration, monitoring, and advocacy for the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology.
Their presence reaffirmed Ghana’s dedication to nuclear non-proliferation, scientific cooperation, and the use of nuclear science for sustainable development.

As part of our annual end-of-year durbar 🎊, staff of the National Nuclear Research Institute (NNRI) came together to reflect 🔍 on the journey of 2025.

Our Director used the occasion to share an honest review of the year, highlighting key achievements 🏆 across research 🔬, capacity building 🎓, partnerships 🤝, and institutional growth 🌱. It was also a moment to acknowledge the challenges we faced and the resilience 💪, teamwork 👥, and commitment that helped us navigate them.

What stood out most was the strong sense of shared purpose ✨. The discussions went beyond celebrating milestones 🎯. They focused on lessons learned 📘 and how we can do better in the year ahead.

Looking to 2026 🚀, the Director outlined clear priorities and a renewed vision for strengthening research impact 🌍, supporting staff development 📈, and positioning NNRI to respond effectively to national and global needs 🌐.

A new chapter begins at NNRI.

The reconstituted Management Board of the National Nuclear Research Institute (NNRI), led by Board Chair Dr. Sena Yvonne Loh, has held its maiden meeting. This was followed by a guided tour of the research reactor facility, offering the Board first-hand insight into operations, safety systems, and ongoing research activities.

Looking forward to strong governance, strategic leadership, and continued impact in nuclear science and national development.
