Phase 2 of the Suame Interchange Project is currently 87 percent complete and is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of October this year.
This was announced by the Hon. Kwame Agbodza, this afternoon, during an inspection of the project as part of his working tour of the Ashanti Region.
Phase 2 includes the construction of three overpasses at Anomangye Junction (completed), Magazine New Road Junction (completed), and Abusuakruwa Junction (98.25 percent complete).
The Phase 2 also involves the widening of the Offinso Road (N10) into a 2 Ă— 3-lane dual carriageway, which is currently 77 percent complete. In addition, 13.2 Km out of the planned 15 kilometres of local roads have been completed, alongside improvements to selected intersections.
The completion and opening of Phase 2 is expected to improve traffic flow in the area and pave the way for intensive work on Phase 1.
The scope of the Phase 1 includes the construction of a three-tier interchange at Suame, two overpasses at Abrepo and Krofrom junctions, and the widening of the Eastern and Western Bypass roads.
