The 133rd Ngmayem Festival 🚀 launched 🔥

Honoured to represent the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Abla Dzifa Gomashie and the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto, at the launch of the 133rd Ngmayem Festival of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area.

Together with the MCE for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. John Atteh Matey, we unveiled the official logo for this historic celebration.

Ngmayem is more than a festival, it is a celebration of thanksgiving, heritage, identity and the enduring spirit of the Krobo people.
As we honour the harvest and the generations that preserved this tradition, we celebrate a living culture that continues to connect the past, present and future.

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), led by CEO Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, yesterday engaged managers of some of Ghana’s leading tourism sites and attractions at the CEO’s Roundtable Stakeholders’ Discussion.

The engagement focused on the implementation and enforcement of L.I. 2393 – Tourism Sites and Attractions Regulations, 2019, which provides the regulatory framework for licensing, standards, safety and effective management of tourism sites and attractions.

Key stakeholders included representatives from Kakum National Park, Shai Hills, Aburi Botanical Gardens, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Manshia Palace Museum, Bonsu Eco Park, the Ghana Forestry Commission Department of Wildlife and Forestry, among others.

A major outcome was a collective commitment to full compliance with L.I. 2393, including government-owned tourism sites. The GTA will therefore strengthen enforcement to ensure improved standards, professionalism, sustainability and visitor experiences across Ghana’s tourism landscape.

The CEO commended all stakeholders for the fruitful engagement and their commitment to building a stronger, more sustainable and visitor-centred tourism industry.
