The 2025 Ghana Internet Governance Forum officially kicked off with powerful opening remarks and insightful keynote addresses, setting a dynamic tone for our discussions on "Building an Inclusive Digital Future Together."

The 2025 Ghana Internet Governance Forum featured a "High-Level Panel" focused on "Driving Digital Inclusion and Transformation in Ghana." This critical discussion brought together key leaders shaping the nation's digital landscape.

The session was expertly moderated by Ms. Naa Dede Tettey from Gh ONE TV.

Safeguarding Our Digital Future: A Deep Dive into Cybersecurity and Data Protection at Ghana IGF 2025!

In an increasingly interconnected world, the importance of robust cybersecurity measures and comprehensive data protection cannot be overstated. At the 2025 Ghana Internet Governance Forum, a crucial "Panel Discussion Three" was dedicated to this very topic: "Cybersecurity and Data Protection in Ghana".

The session brought together leading experts to explore the challenges and solutions in securing Ghana's digital space and protecting its citizens' data. The discussion was expertly guided by Moderator Prof Professor Kester Quist-Aphetsi, PhD(Highest Hon/Summa Cum Laude).

The conversation was sparked by Ethel Margaret Enyonam Sebuabe, a Professional Nurse representing Fraud Victims. She bravely recounted her own harrowing ordeal, sharing how her mobile money account was compromised, and funds were taken after she clicked on a suspicious link.

This personal testimony underscored the very real and devastating impact of cyber threats on individuals.

This crucial challenge was the focus of the "Online Trust & Safety: Ensuring a secure experience for newly connected people" panel at the 2025 Ghana Internet Governance Forum.

The session tackled the vital responsibility of safeguarding our newest digital citizens. These individuals, often new to the complexities of the internet, are particularly vulnerable to online risks. The panel explored proactive strategies to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed for a secure and positive online journey.

Discover the impactful journey of the Ghana Youth Internet Governance Forum (Ghana Youth IGF)! This vibrant, dedicated track, held in Meeting Room 3 as a cornerstone event of the 2025 Ghana IGF, truly empowered young minds to actively shape Ghana's digital future.

The Youth IGF kicked off with an engaging presentation titled "Behind the Screen: Internet Governance and You," delivered by Ida Na-Tei, PE-GhIE , Founder of CTN Technologies, following a short video and survey.

A highly anticipated panel discussion, "Shaping Tomorrow Today: A Digital-Forward Vision for Youth in Ghana," took center stage. Moderated by Sarah Aryee , this session featured insightful contributions from:

Sylvian Kimkpe, IoT Software & Systems Engineer, Robotics Software Engineer

Bridging Access and Inclusion for All Youth, facilitated by Godsway Kubi

These groups culminated in recaps and presentations, followed by closing remarks and group photos, capturing the spirit of collaboration and forward-thinking. The collective voices and recommendations from the Ghana Youth IGF were also integral to the forum's overall communique.

It was inspiring to witness such passion and dedication from Ghana's young digital leaders! Their contributions are vital for building a truly inclusive digital future.

Empowering Our Youngest Digital Citizens: The Ghana Children Internet Governance Forum at Ghana IGF 2025!

A truly inspiring and forward-looking session at the 2025 Ghana Internet Governance Forum was the dedicated Ghana Children Internet Governance Forum (Children IGF). Held in Meeting Room 1, this vital track was designed to bring the voices of our children into the crucial discussions around the internet's future.

Under the overarching theme of "Building an Inclusive Digital Future Together", the Children IGF focused on ensuring a safe, beneficial, and inclusive online environment for Ghana's youth. The sessions were expertly facilitated by Child Online Africa, highlighting their commitment to protecting and empowering young internet users.

Adding to the inspiration, the children were delighted to be joined by Hon. Akanvariba Lydia Lamisi, Minister of State in Charge of Public Sector Reforms and Chair of Ghana IGF, and Prof. Nii Quaynor, the revered Father of the Internet in Africa. They both took the time to motivate and speak directly to the young participants, underscoring the importance of their engagement in shaping the digital landscape.

Engaging with children on topics of internet governance is fundamental to fostering a responsible and aware generation of digital citizens. Their perspectives are invaluable as we work towards a truly inclusive online space. The Children IGF also contributed its General Recommendations and Communique to the wider forum outcomes.

It was a powerful reminder that an inclusive digital future must start with our children, ensuring their safety, understanding, and participation.
