French Platform for International Exchange and Solidarity Volunteering

France Volontaires is the French platform for International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. As a French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs operator, it brings together the State, local authorities and associations around a public interest mission: the development and promotion of International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. France Volontaires Ghana, through its Volunteering Centre located in the Alliance Française in Accra, supports and guides volunteers and structures interested in International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. It carries out missions of advice, training, networking and promotion of international exchange and solidarity volunteering.

🌟 On August 28th, the France Volontaires Ghana team had the pleasure of attending the CorpsAfrica/Ghana Cohort 5 Swearing-In Ceremony held at the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS).

👏 The CorpsAfrica/Ghana Cohort 5 Swearing-In Ceremony celebrated the beginning of an adventure for young African volunteers who will complete a year of community service in underserved areas across Ghana.

🤝 We thank CorpsAfrica/Ghana for the invitation, and wish the best for the volunteers' upcoming projects !

🌟 Le 28 août, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a eu le plaisir d'assister à la Cérémonie de Prestation de Serment de la 5ème promotion de CorpsAfrica/Ghana, qui s'est tenue à l'Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS).

👏 La Cérémonie de Prestation de Serment de la 5ème promotion de CorpsAfrica/Ghana a marqué le début d’une aventure pour ces jeunes volontaires africains qui vont effectuer une année de service communautaire dans des zones défavorisées à travers le Ghana.

[Meeting with representatives of the CSO Platform on SDGs Ghana]

🌟 On August 27th, the France Volontaires Ghana team had the pleasure of meeting the representatives of the CSO Platform on SDGs Ghana in their offices in Nungua in Accra.

🤝 It was the opportunity to strenghthen ties between our two organizations, to explain the various VIES volunteer schemes and to discuss about the preparations on the upcoming French Volunteer Day.

[Participation in an event - National Youth Conference 2026]

🌟 The France Volontaires Ghana team participated in the National Youth Conference held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

🌱 The three-day event held on August 10th to 12th and organized by the National Youth Authority under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment brought together thousands of youth across Ghana, as well as government agencies and development partners to engage in meaningful conversations related to youth development.

🌟 L'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a participé à la National Youth Conference 2026 qui s'est tenue à l'Université Kwame Nkrumah des Sciences et Technologies à Kumasi.

🌱 Cet événement de trois jours, qui s'est déroulé du 10 au 12 août et a été organisé par la National Youth Authority sous l'égide du Ministère du Développement et de l'Autonomisation de la Jeunesse, a rassemblé des milliers de jeunes de tout le Ghana, ainsi que des organismes gouvernementaux et des partenaires, afin d'engager des discussions constructives sur le développement de la jeunesse.

[Participation in an event - Pan-African Youth Parliament for Democracy]

🌟 On August 3rd, 4th, and 5th, the France Volontaires Ghana team participated in the Pan-African Youth Parliament for Democracy, held at the Ghana Parliamentary Training Institute in Accra.

🌍 This inaugural event, organized under the auspices of the Fondation de l'innovation pour la démocratie, brought together young leaders from across the continent and the diaspora to discuss issues related to innovation, democracy, volunteerism, and environmental impact in Africa.

🤝 The role of volunteering as a driver of social transformation was discussed on the second day during a workshop led by Mr. Yawo Apelete Doku (Fofogan), Volunteering Development Officer for France Volontaires Ghana, and Mrs. Anouchka Sooriamorthy, a philosopher from Mauritius.

👏 We thank the Fondation de l'innovation pour la démocratie for organizing this event and wish the young representatives every success in their community development projects !

[Participation à un évènement - Parlement Panafricain des Jeunes pour la Démocratie]

🌟 Les 3, 4 et 5 août, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a participé au Parlement Panafricain des Jeunes pour la Démocratie, qui s'est tenu au Ghana Parliament Training Institute à Accra.

🌍 Cet événement inaugural, organisé sous l'égide de la Fondation de l'innovation pour la démocratie, a réuni de jeunes leaders venus de tout le continent et de la diaspora pour débattre des enjeux liés à l'innovation, à la démocratie, au volontariat et à l'impact environnemental en Afrique.

🤝 Le rôle du volontariat en tant que moteur de transformation des sociétés a été abordé le deuxième jour lors d'un atelier animé par Mr. Yawo Apelete Doku (Fofogan), Chargé du Développement des Volontariats pour France Volontaires Ghana, et Mme. Anouchka Sooriamorthy, une philosophe mauricienne.

🌟 On July 30th, the France Volontaires Ghana team had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Edwin Zu-Cudjoe, Executive Director of Social Enterprise Ghana in their offices in North Legon, Accra.

🌾 It was the opportunity to discuss about our respective ongoing projects within the agriculture and francophonie thematics, and to consider together the possibility of welcoming several French volunteers in the wake of the V-Francophonie program.

[Participation in an event - 2026 Walk & Run for Education]

🌟 On July 25th, the France Volontaires Ghana team participated in the 2026 Walk & Run for Education event organized by our partner Fafali around the Christian Village neighborhood in Accra.

✏️ The objective of this event held anually is to volunteer and collect donations helping the underserved children with school supplies used throughout the year, as well as marking the campaigns made by our partner within the sports and education thematics.

🤝 We thank Fafali for the invitation and wish the children the best in their studies !

[Meeting with the volunteers from the Fondation Jeunesse Feu Vert at the Volunteering Centre]

🌟 On July 21st, we were pleased to welcome the volunteers from the Fondation Jeunesse Feu Vert to the Volunteering Centre following their JSI VVV-SI solidarity project in Odumase-Okanta.

📝 During their visit, we had the opportunity to talk about their mission and their experience in Ghana. An information session on the VIES volunteer opportunities was held to raise awareness among the young people about the possibilities offered by France Volontaires.

👏 We thank the group for their work on renovating the school and wish them all the best for their future projects!

🌟 Le 21 juillet, nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir à l’Espace Volontariats les bénévoles de la Fondation Jeunesse Feu Vert à la suite de leur chantier de solidarité JSI VVV-SI à Odumase-Okanta.

📝 Lors de leur visite, nous avons pu échanger sur leur mission et leur expérience au Ghana. Une session d'information sur les possibilités de volontariat VIES a été réalisée afin de sensibiliser la jeunesse aux parcours d'engagement proposés par France Volontaires !

[Field Visit: International Solidarity Workcamp JSI VVV-SI]

🌟 On July 17th, the France Volontaires Ghana team had the pleasure of visiting the French volunteers from the association Foundation Jeunesse Feu Vert who came from Seine-Saint-Denis, as well as the Ghanaian volunteers from AFES-Ghana, engaged in an international solidarity workcamp in Odumase-Okanta on a project funded by the FONJEP.

🤝 Over the previous three weeks, the team of young volunteers helped renovating the Ada Kyeremanten School by painting and tile-laying the different classrooms. This work will help creating a brighter and more welcoming environment for the students while developing community service between the two associations.

👏 Thanks to the volunteers for their commitment and investment in the Ghanaian youth through the renovation of the school !

🌟 Le 17 juillet, l’équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a eu le plaisir de rendre visite aux volontaires français de l’association Fondation Jeunesse Feu Vert, venus de Seine-Saint-Denis, ainsi qu’aux volontaires ghanéens de l’AFES-Ghana, engagés dans un chantier de solidarité internationale à Odumase-Okanta dans le cadre d’un projet financé par le FONJEP.

🤝 Au cours des trois dernières semaines, l’équipe de jeunes volontaires a participé à la rénovation de l’école Ada Kyeremanten en peignant et en carrelant les différentes salles de classe. Ces travaux contribueront à créer un environnement plus lumineux et plus accueillant pour les élèves, tout en renforçant la collaboration entre les deux associations au service de la communauté.

👏 Merci aux volontaires pour leur engagement et leur implication en faveur de la jeunesse ghanéenne à travers la rénovation de cette école !
