French Platform for International Exchange and Solidarity Volunteering

France Volontaires is the French platform for International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. As a French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs operator, it brings together the State, local authorities and associations around a public interest mission: the development and promotion of International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. France Volontaires Ghana, through its Volunteering Centre

located in the Alliance Française in Accra, supports and guides volunteers and structures interested in International exchange and solidarity Volunteering. It carries out missions of advice, training, networking and promotion of international exchange and solidarity volunteering.

[Participation in an event - Launching of the Sankofa II Program]

🇬🇭 On May 21, the France Volontaires Ghana team participated in the launch ceremony for the Sankofa II program, coordinated by Expertise France and the Delegation of the European Union in Ghana, at the LA Foundation for the Arts.

🎼 The Sankofa II program is a partnership between European and Ghanaian stakeholders aimed at strengthening Ghana’s cultural heritage while revitalizing the country’s cultural and creative industries and promoting economic opportunities in fields such as music, fashion, and the audiovisual sector.

🌟 We thank Expertise France for its invitation and wish the best on the implemention of the program !

🇬🇭 Le 21 mai, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a participé à la cérémonie de lancement du programme Sankofa II, coordonnée par Expertise France et la Délégation de l'European Union in Ghana, à la LA Foundation for the Arts.

🎼 Le programme Sankofa II est un partenariat entre des acteurs européens et ghanéens visant à renforcer le patrimoine culturel du Ghana tout en redynamisant les industries culturelles et créatives du pays et en favorisant les opportunités économiques dans des domaines tels que la musique, la mode et le secteur audiovisuel.

[Amanda, a former Ghanaian international reciprocity volunteer, joins the France Volontaires delegation at the Africa Forward Summit !]

🇰🇪 Amanda, a former Ghanaian international reciprocity volunteer, was part of the France Volontaires delegation that traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit on May 11 and 12 !

🌍 The Africa Forward Summit is a major event dedicated to renewing cooperation between France and African countries. Centered on the theme of partnerships for innovation and growth, the summit brought together heads of state, institutions, civil society organizations, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, and engaged youth.

🎾 Amanda is a former reciprocity volunteer who served at the Viking Tennis Club in Paris as part of the Terre des Jeux - Paris 2024 volunteer program. Following her experience in France, she became the Technical Director of the Tennis Foundation Ghana Academy in Accra.

🌟 We thank the French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana for its support and are proud of Amanda’s achievements !

🇰🇪 Amanda, ancienne volontaire internationale de réciprocité ghanéenne, a fait partie de la délégation de France Volontaires qui s'est rendue à Nairobi, Kenya afin de participer au sommet Africa Forward le 11 et 12 mai !

🌍 Le sommet Africa Forward est une rencontre majeure consacrée au renouvellement de la coopération entre la France et les pays africains. Organisé autour du thème des partenariats pour l'innovation et la croissance, le sommet a réuni chefs d’État, institutions, organisations de la société civile, entrepreneurs, chercheurs, artistes et jeunesses engagées.

🎾 Amanda est une ancienne volontaire de réciprocité ayant réalisé son service au Viking Club de Tennis à Paris dans le cadre du programme volontaire Terre des Jeux - Paris 2024. A la suite de son expérience en France, elle est devenue Directrice Technique de la Tennis Foundation Ghana Academy à Accra.

🌟 On May 20th, the France Volontaires Ghana team had the pleasure of taking part in the Team France Cohesion Day, organized by the French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana at the Résidence de France.

🤝 It was a moment of exchange and conviviality, punctuated by team sports, traditional dance and cooking activities and a shared lunch in a friendly atmosphere !

👏 We congratulate the French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana team for the swift organization of the event which brought opportunities to strengthen ties between the various French stakeholders involved in Ghana !

🌟 Le 20 mai, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a eu le plaisir de participer à la Journée de Cohésion Team France, organisée par l'French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana à la Résidence de France.

🤝 Ce fut un moment d’échange et de convivialité, ponctué par des sports collectifs, des activités de danse traditionnelle et de cuisine, ainsi qu’un déjeuner partagé dans une ambiance chaleureuse !

[Participation in an event - Europe Day]

🌟 On May 7th, the France Volontaires Ghana team participated as part of Team France in the celebration of Europe Day held at the Ambassador's Residence of the Delegation of the European Union in Ghana.

🇪🇺 This event commemorated the 50 years of physical presence of the European Union in Ghana, celebrating alongside the representatives of 14 European countries and the Ghanaian government in a night of friendship, music and sharing.

👨‍🏫 The France Volontaires Ghana team also had the opportunity of sharing a booth with the Alliance Française d'Accra's team to provide information about VIES opportunities.

🎉 We thank the French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana and the Delegation of the European Union in Ghana for the invitation, and wish a wonderful Europe Day to all !

[Meeting with GEHISCO representatives]

🤝 On April 21st, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Generation Hope International School and Orphanage (GEHISCO) representatives in our volunteering centre of Accra.

🌟 It was the opportunity to learn more about GEHISCO and their teaching activities for disadvantaged children and to consider together the possibility of welcoming French volunteers to accompany their mission with the children of the school.

[Participation in an event - Francophonie Football Tournament 2026]

🌟 On April 18th, as part of the Francophonie Festival 2026, the France Volontaires Ghana team coordinated the French Football team during the Francophonie Football Tournament held at the University of Ghana Stadium throughout the day.

⚽️ This event was a celebration of the solidarity and diversity of the Francophone world throught sports, showing the unity and cooperation between the 18 youth teams representing institutions and countries.

🤝 France Volontaires Ghana was pleased to have taken part of the activity, thank all the players of Team France and congratulate the Ghana youth team for its victory !

🌟 Le 18 avril, dans le cadre du Festival de la Francophonie 2026, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a coordonné l'équipe de football française tout au long de la journée lors du Tournoi de Football de la Francophonie qui s'est déroulé au stade de l'Université du Ghana.

⚽️ Cet événement a été l'occasion de célébrer la solidarité et la diversité du monde francophone à travers le sport, mettant en avant l'unité et la coopération entre les 18 équipes de jeunes représentant des institutions et des pays.

🚲 On April 17th, the France Volontaires Ghana team cycled 50 km between Nkawkaw and Bunso as part of Team France during the event.

🇪🇺🇬🇭 is an event created by the delegation of the European Union in Ghana in collaboration with the embassies of European countries present in Ghana, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the EU’s presence in the country by cycling 800 km from Tamale to Accra, and promote the spirit of European-Ghanaian cooperation through sports and environmental responsibility.

🤝 We are grateful to the French Embassy in Ghana / Ambassade de France au Ghana for inviting us to join the team, and we congratulate the delegation of the European Union in Ghana on this wonderful event !

[Participation in an event - Francophonie Kermesse 2026]

🌟 On April 11th, the France Volontaires Ghana team participated in the annual Kermesse held at the Alliance Française d'Accra, holding an information booth for the VIES volunteer possibilities alongside other team France institutions.

🎉 The Kermesse event closed the Francophonie Festival 2026 in a festive atmosphere, with food stalls, games, shows, karaoke and dancing sessions on the Alliance Française d'Accra's stage.

🤝 Thank you to the Alliance Française d'Accra for hosting the event under the sign of cultural diversity and solidarity !

🌟 Le 11 avril, l'équipe de France Volontaires Ghana a participé à la kermesse annuelle organisée à l'Alliance Française d'Accra, où elle a tenu un stand d'information sur les possibilités de volontariat VIES aux côtés d'autres institutions de la Team France.

🎉 La Kermesse a clôturé le Festival de la Francophonie 2026 dans une ambiance festive, avec des stands de restauration, des jeux, des spectacles, du karaoké et des séances de danse sur la scène de l'Alliance Française d'Accra.
