Flood Relief and Inspection Visit to Affected Communities in Ayawaso Central Municipality
The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, paid a working visit to the flood-affected communities of Alajo and surrounding areas within the Ayawaso Central Municipality to assess the impact of the recent flooding and interact with affected residents. The visit formed part of the Government’s commitment to supporting victims and coordinating relief efforts.
The Minister was joined by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo; the head of National Disaster Managetment Organisation (NADMO) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu; the Municipal Chief Executive, Rudolf Collingwoode-Williams; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Ismael Nana Ogyefo; Heads of Department, Assembly staff, NADMO officials, and other stakeholders.
As part of the relief intervention, 1,000 blankets, bags of rice, buckets, cups, and bowls were presented to affected households to provide immediate support and bring comfort to families impacted by the disaster.
The Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly expresses its sincere appreciation to the Government, emergency response agencies, development partners, and all individuals who contributed to the relief efforts. Together, we remain committed to supporting affected residents and strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience across the municipality.
