After the destruction, lies, and corruption propaganda directed at Dr. Kwame Nkrumah leading up to the events of 1966, On the influence of some members, Top military and police establishment took control of the country and remained in power, while they stayed behind the scenes, waiting for the right moment to come out.
Three years later, J. A. Ankrah (1966–1969) resigned, and Akwasi Afrifa briefly took over in 1969, serving for about 338 days.
Then, in 1969, the political tradition associated with J. B. Danquah, Dr. K. A. Busia(took over as prime minister), Edward Akufo-Addo(As the President), and D***o emerged to take over the reins of government. 👀
Kwame Nkrumah’s opponents and greatest rivals became the architects of what later became known as the "Danquah-Busia-D***o tradition"(The NPP tradition)
The military associates had tasted political power— they fell in love with it. They would eventually return for more. The rest is history.
