INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY 2026

The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) joins the global museum community in commemorating International Museum Day on 18th May 2026 under the theme:

โ€œMuseums Uniting a Divided Worldโ€

Museums are more than spaces for preserving artefacts, they are places of dialogue, education, identity, and shared memory. In a world increasingly marked by social, cultural, and political divisions, museums continue to foster understanding, celebrate diversity, and strengthen national unity.

To mark the occasion, GMMB will organize nationwide activities including:
๐Ÿ“Œ Free access to national museums
๐Ÿ“Œ Exhibitions
๐Ÿ“Œ Guided tours
๐Ÿ“Œ Public dialogues

Join us as we celebrate the power of museums in building bridges, preserving heritage, and inspiring future generations.
