On 29 July 2026, the Director, Col Emmanuel Sampson, had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Lee Kyung Royl from the South Korean Embassy and Dr. Hong Seok Kim, Chief Representative of the Ghana Office of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI), who paid a courtesy visit to the Centre.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration on climate and environmental issues. The delegation expressed a strong interest in partnering with the Centre to advance initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and sustainable development in Ghana.

The Centre looks forward to fostering this partnership and working together to address emerging climate and environmental challenges through knowledge sharing, innovation and strategic cooperation.

The National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM) was honoured to host a delegation from the West Africa Centre for Counter-Extremism (WACCE) and Leiden University, Netherlands, as part of their research on "Terrorism, Governance and Intelligence in West Africa."

The delegation, comprising Dr. John Sunday, Dr. Sadiq Adu-Twum, and Priscilla Mawusi Joppa, was warmly received by the Director of NCCRM, Col Emmanuel Sampson.

The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration on issues relating to peace, security, governance, and countering violent extremism in West Africa.

On Thursday, 14 June 2026, the National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM) received a delegation from the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), who were on a consultative visit to strengthen cooperation on security matters.

The delegation was received by the Centre's Director, Colonel Emmanuel Sampson, and held productive discussions focused on the current security threat landscape in Ghana and NCCRM's perspectives on broader regional security issues affecting West Africa.

The visit stressed the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in addressing the evolving security challenges facing the region. Both sides expressed openness to explore opportunities for future partnership, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives that could enhance early warning and response capabilities across the sub-region.

The Centre participated in a Capacity Building Programme on Early Warning Systems and Human Security held in South Korea from 20th May to 2nd June 2026.

The programme featured high-impact learning visits to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the Boramae Safety Experience Centre, as well as expert lectures on Counter-Terrorism Policy and Implementation and Data-Driven Heatwave Monitoring and Early Warning Systems.

These engagements provided practical insights into strengthening multi-hazard early warning systems, emergency preparedness, and data-driven risk communication.

The knowledge gained will support ongoing efforts at the Centre to enhance national resilience and improve human security outcomes.

Day 1 of the Capacity Building on the Operationalisation of the NCCRM Data Hub successfully commenced with active participation from stakeholders across the country.

The training focuses on strengthening data collection, reporting, analysis, and collaboration to enhance early warning and response mechanisms in Ghana.

On 6th May 2026, the Ghana Meteorological Agency, led by Maureen Ahiataku, paid a courtesy call on the Director of National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism ( -GH), Col Emmanuel Sampson, to discuss the Agency’s services relevant to the Centre’s operations and the status of the Early Warnings for All Initiative (EW4ALL), which is being coordinated by the Centre.

During the engagement, Col Emmanuel Sampson briefed the team on the operations of NCCRM and highlighted that the Centre will, in the first week of June 2026, organize a stakeholder meeting on EW4ALL to assess and understand the various activities and contributions of institutions currently working within the initiative.

Maureen Ahiataku also noted that, in line with NCCRM’s operational mandate, the Ghana Meteorological Agency is willing to support the Centre in the areas of maritime and environmental data to strengthen and enhance the Centre’s analytical reporting.

On 13 April 2026, a delegation from The Iris Group paid a courtesy call on the Director, Col Emmanuel Sampson, at .

Led by Professor Abena Boateng, the team visited the Centre to conduct a gender assessment under the SUPREME Project to inform ongoing interventions.

The exercise falls within the health domain of the Centre and is being coordinated by the Health and Pandemic Analyst, Daniel Atta-Nyarko.

On 12 March 2026, the ECOWAS Steering Committee and the ECOWAS Peace, Security and Governance (EPSG) Project team paid a working visit to the Centre to deliberate on the Centre’s achievements so far in the area of human security. The delegation was led by Dr. Onyinye Onwuka, Acting Director of the Early Warning Directorate at the ECOWAS Commission, Abuja.

The delegation was welcomed by the Director of , Col Emmanuel Sampson. During the meeting, the Analyst for Crime and Criminality, Ms. Victoria Ama Asieduwaa, presented to the delegation on the current status of the Centre as well as its upcoming activities.
