This morning, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Maj Gen Thomas Oppong-Peprah interacted with personnel of UNMISS Ghanbatt 10 who are undergoing pre-deployment training and concentration at the Army Peace Operations Training School (APOTS), Bundase ahead of their insertion into the operational area in Sudan. While there he was briefed by the Commander APOTS, Col CK Dingaane on developments at the School and their schedule of activities for the year. The COAS reminded the troops of his vision and called all to abide by the strategy he has adopted to deliver his vision. He emphasized the need to stay united as a force to be able to deliver their mandate effectively whiles encouraging them to desist from acts that bring the name of the Armed Forces into disrepute. He noted that the Ghana Armed Forces has excelled in United Nations peace keeping operations over the years and urged them to maintain this image. The COAS, also commissioned a mechanized borehole facility and a renovated cook house. He also inspected other ongoing projects at the school. Maj Gen Thomas Oppong-Peprah highly commended the Commanding Officer, UNMISS GHANBATT 10, Lt Col Prince Tandoh for his sterling leadership and foresight for working with Commander APOTS to deliver those projects.
