📢 Community Development Update: Investing in Our Future
On Wednesday, 20th May 2026, at 10:30 AM, the Volta River Authority (VRA) engaged with the North Dayi District Assembly to further its community development programs.
We are proud to share that Vakpo Dunyo was a key beneficiary of this initiative:
1. Educational Support & Infrastructure
The VRA presented 5,000 branded exercise books to six selected Resettlement schools. Vakpo Dunyo benefited directly from this initiative:
• Dunyo D/A Primary School: Received 500 exercise books.
• Dunyo D/A JHS: Received 200 exercise books and 50 mathematical sets, specifically allocated to JHS 2 students in preparation for their upcoming BECE examinations.
2. Scholarship Opportunities
The VRA also showcased its ongoing commitment to higher education:
• Academic Support: The VRA has paid tuition fees and stipends for 86 students for the 2025/2026 academic year.
• Impact: On September 18, 2025, the VRA awarded scholarships to 60 brilliant but needy students from communities impacted by the Authority's operations.
• Digital Access: The VRA has launched a digitalized scholarship application system and encourages new applicants to access it for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including:
• Hon. Ernest Adevor, District Chief Executive (DCE)
• Representative of the Education Director
• Hon. Isaac Edem Kwaku Anyomi, Assembly Member for Dunyo
• Mr. Gideon Brantie, TDC Chairman for Dunyo, along with his team
• Heads of both the Primary and JHS
We extend our sincere gratitude to the VRA for this generous contribution to our students’ academic journey. Partnerships like these are crucial for the continued growth and development of our town. 📚✍️
Long live Vakpo Dunyo! 🇬🇭✨
