Cocoa comes in different types, each with its own origin and unique character.
Forastero – the most widely grown in the world and the most common type found in Ghana, known for its strength and high yield.
Criollo – rare and delicate, originating from Central America, prized for its rich, fine flavor.
Trinitario – a hybrid born in the Caribbean (Trinidad), combining quality and resilience.
Nacional – native to Ecuador, famous for its distinctive aroma.
