We've approved a request from Guernsey Water to close a further section of Route de Cobo up to the junction with Le Douit Boudin from Monday 8th June for five days. As part of seasonal efforts to make getting to popular beaches safer and more accessible, several speed limit and traffic flow changes along certain areas of the coast have come into effect from today until the end of September. 🏖️

Speed limits have changed from 35mph to 25mph on the following roads:

➡️ Vazon - From the Loophole Tower (opposite La Rocquette Road) to Fort Hommet access road
➡️ Route de la Lague and Route de Rocquaine - From Imperial Hotel to La Route du Coudre

Also, Petit Bôt Road and La Rue des Pages will become one-way in the direction away from the coast between 10am until 7pm each day. Two-way access remains in place outside of these hours.

28/05/2026

Repair and resurfacing works to the parking spaces and pavement by the former Octopus site have been completed ahead of schedule, and the row of parking spaces has now reopened. This includes nine 1-hour bays as well as an additional accessible bay. 🅿♿

The reopening of these parking bays and adjacent pavement had been prioritised to provide greater accessibility for pedestrians and other road users to La Vallette, the nearby bathing pools, and onward to the south coast cliff paths in time for the summer season.
