Workshops with Author Jackie Carreira
Join us for this series of workshops exploring an exciting variety of genres and skills. Designed to introduce both beginners, and those more experienced in other forms, to the world of writing, these sessions will provide a good grounding to anyone wanting to have a go at writing.

Sessions Available are:
14th May - THE ART OF THE SHORT STORY
How long is short? What is defined as a 'story?' (including suggestions for how to get your short story published).
18th June - MEMOIR - IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!
Getting your own story out there. How to write what you know from inside out.
16th July - FEATURE WRITING
How to start to make a living from the written word. Writing for magazines and pedioricals, both printed and online.
13th August - THE EDITING PROCESS
What does editing actually involve? How important is it? As a writer - do you need it? Where do you get it? Can you do it yourself?
10th September - WRITING OUT LOUD
An introduction to writing for performance, whether plays for theatre, radio, performance poetry, or anything that turns the words into sound and action.
Each session is 6-8pm
