The York Local Offer is a free and impartial service provided by City Of York Council.

We provide information about what is available in York for children and young people and their families with special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND). Friday 5 June 2026 10- 11.30 SEND CENTRAL at Tang Hall Explore Library th
SEND central will be holding a pop up stand at Tang Hall explore library with the SEND hub manager, a member of Parent Carer Forum York and an NHS transitions nurse. Please pop and see us if you would like to discuss anything around SEND.

Speech and language development in children who are deaf/Deaf or hard of hearing 😀
The Speech and Language Therapy team are offering a free online workshop on speech and language development in children with permanent hearing loss.

The workshop is for parents and carers who have a baby, toddler or pre-schooler with permanent hearing loss. Any family members who spend time with the child are really welcome to join. The workshop will give an overview of speech and language development in children with hearing loss, ideas for supporting children at home, and information about local support organisations.

10.00 – 11.30 on Thursday 28th May
