It has been a morning of recognition for many across the Regiment as the results from the Lance Corporal to Corporal promotion board were released. For those who were successful, a huge well done on reaching this significant career milestone. It’s thoroughly deserved!

In addition to this, numerous awards were handed out for individual achievements over the last few months within 219 Signal Squadron.

The Merchant’s Taylor’s Award was presented to the JNCO who goes above and beyond what is expected of them. Through heavy involvement within the community, this year it was awarded to LCpl Wintersgill for her efforts in bringing together families from around the Garrison whilst also being involved with numerous volunteering activities in support of the homeless. In addition, her work within the Regiment has been instrumental in maintaining the Squadron’s readiness. A true example of selfless commitment.

Commanding Officer’s commendations for outstanding service to the Regiment were awarded to LCpl Larder and LCpl Gartland in recognition for their contributions to STEM within schools; setting the gold standard for how we should engage with school children.

The Month of June also saw a phenomenal effort from the Regiment in their participation in 100 for 100 as part of the Corps centenary challenge. LCpl Dennison was awarded the top performing runner, logging an impressive 201.7km as part of a inter 219 Signal Squadron competition!

During lockdown the OC set a technical challenge in order to hone the Soldiers’ technical abilities whilst dispersed. LCpl Bipin collected the trophy for the best performing team on behalf of his colleagues.

All in all, a morning for celebration!

Happy Birthday to the Royal Signals! With many of the birthday events and celebrations cancelled this year, it was great to see so many members of the Regiment past and present getting involved with Corps Centenary 100for100 challenge. Over 6000km have been covered running, tabbing and walking alone this month!

Enjoy this wonderful message from our Colonel-In-Chief.
