Did you come to the aid of an 85-year-old man near York Railway Station ? ⬇️

Were you one of the good Samaritans that came to his man’s aid in York? ⬇️

We’re appealing for key witnesses after an 85-year-old man sustained injuries near York Railway Station.

The incident happened on Friday 16 October between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

The man walked out of the foyer of the station and intended to cross the road to catch a bus.

At some point he sustained injuries including a head injury, however, it is not know whether he was hit by a vehicle or if he fell.

A number of people came to his aid including a member of the public who took him to hospital .

We need to establish how the man sustained his injuries and are appealing to the people who helped the man to come forward.

If you were one of the people that came to his aid or if you witnessed the incident, please contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who many have caught the incident on their dashcam.

Hello folks, here's a quick Storm Boelo update for you 💨👇

There is some disruption across North Yorkshire this morning, with impacts on travel and power supplies in some areas.

Our officers and partner agencies are working hard to keep people safe, but we're asking everyone to take extra care if you're travelling or spending time outdoors today, and to plan ahead where possible.

Here’s some important information for you:

• Coastal safety and tide warnings - If you're visiting the coast, particularly with children, please pay close attention to tide times and local safety advice. Parents and carers are urged to keep children well away from cliff edges, sea walls and areas that could be cut off by incoming tides and overtopping waves.

• Power outages - Some areas are experiencing power cuts. For the latest information and updates, please visit the Northern Powergrid website.

• Travel and road closures – Before setting off, check the latest travel alerts, road conditions and closures through National Highways and your local authority channels.

• Do not drive through flood water - Flood water is often deeper and faster-moving than it appears. Never attempt to drive through flooded roads and always obey road closure signs.

• Fallen trees and debris - We have received some reports of fallen trees overnight. Thankfully, there have been no reports of any serious injuries. However, fallen branches and other debris may still be present, so please remain vigilant and take extra care when travelling or walking outdoors.

• Rail travel - Some rail services may be affected by the weather conditions. Please check with your train operator before you travel.

• Rural walks and higher ground - If you're planning to go walking today, particularly in rural areas or on higher ground, please take extra care. Mountain rescue teams are advising people to avoid exposed high ground. Adverse conditions increase the risk of incidents and can place additional pressure on emergency services responding across the county.

• Plan ahead - If you're intending to visit an event, attraction or other destination today, please check that it is open and operating as normal before you leave home.

York City are hosting Port Vale at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, and the overwhelming majority of supporters will want to enjoy the match in the right spirit.

We'll have a policing operation in place, so you may see officers round and about. They're there to provide safety and reassurance to everyone.

Also remember traffic around the stadium may be heavier than usual. Kick off is at 3pm, so please leave extra time if you’re driving in the area before or after the match.

Our officers were deployed at York Designer Outlet this week as part of our ongoing efforts to keep people safe and help protect our communities.

Throughout the day, officers conducted a number of high-visibility and unpredictable activities, including the use of Vehicle Check Points (VCPs), while also engaging with members of the public, retailers, outlet management, and security partners.

Project Servator deployments are designed to disrupt criminal activity, while providing reassurance to those who live, work and visit our area.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with our officers yesterday.

The positive engagement from shoppers, staff and partners is invaluable in helping us keep York a safe and welcoming place for all.

We’re appealing for information about a suspected burglary that occurred in the Heslington area of York.

It took place in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 17 October when a building near The Outgang was damaged, on Main Street in Heslington, York.

We’re particularly appealing for information about any CCTV that may be in the area and any vehicles that were seen in the area at the time.
