Friends of New Earswick Swimming Pool. Friends of New Earswick Swimming Pool manage the New Earswick Swimming Pool.

FoNESP formed in October 2017 in response to the news that the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust were going to close New Earswick Pool. After a successful and well supported campaign, FoNESP took over the running of the pool on 1st January 2019, signing a 25 year lease. FoNESP achieved registered charity status in February 2020 (charity number 11888111). The pool was opened In 1967 by the Trust wit

h the support of the local community, notably children being asked to donate 'Half A Crown' and the villagers joining a 'Buy a Brick' scheme. Today the pool is used by many diverse groups of swimmers, including the New Earswick Disabled Swimming Club and the longstanding New Earswick Swimming Club, as well as several swimming lesson providers , a sub aqua group, a local elderly residential home and the local primary school.

Swimming Teachers needed!

🎓 We pay for training!
YCBC will reimburse the cost of training fees for:

➡️ L1 and/or L2 course in return for voluntary hours teaching for YCBC.

☑️ About our facilities:
Our teaching sessions take place at St Peter’s School Pool and New Earswick Swimming Pool.
🅿️ Both have free parking.

Temporary closure

We are sorry to announce that we are closing the pool from noon today whilst we deal with an issue with the pool water chlorine level.

The pool will be closed all weekend so no sessions will take place.

Our apologies to those who were look forward to their weekend lesson, training session or swim.

Visiting the pool mid week (day time) or on a Saturday morning?

Whilst we don't have refreshment facilities on site our next door neighbours, The Folk Hall, have an excellent cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks ⬇️

No sunshine? No problem! ☁️

Our café is still serving summer with iced cold drinks, iced coffee included 🧊☕✨

9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
9am - 1:30pm, Saturday

Keep your child's progress moving through the summer with our August Crash Courses at New Earswick Pool for Stages 1–7

Focused, consecutive lessons can make a real difference to confidence, technique, and skill development, helping swimmers maintain momentum throughout the summer holidays.

This year, swimmers will join Captain Fin's World Swim Adventure, travelling across seven continents, collecting passport stamps, completing themed challenges, and developing their swimming skills along the way

📅 Week 1: 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th August
📅 Week 2: 18th, 19th & 20th August
🕓 Sessions between 4:00pm and 5:30pm

Places are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis
