St Andrews Madrigal Group will be appearing with us on Sunday 14 June. Doors at 1900 for a 1930 start.
This is the second year they have included us in their tour, but if you have not come across a madrigal before why not take this opportunity to find out what they are all about?
A madrigal is secular vocal music popular during the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Traditional madrigals are sung a ca****la (without instruments) with each singer performing an independent melodic line. Individual voices overlap and all are considered equally important.
St Andrews Madrigal Group will also be bringing us sacred classics and folk songs.
The performance is free, but there will be a collection towards the Keep the Gate Open appeal.
